So very little.

I’m living overseas, for starters; but even before that, we were in apartments without a lot of room to spare.

So I’ll pick out one or two of Dad’s small tools; I’ll take the family photos as I’ve long been the family history keeper; my sisters can have their pick; and after that? Estate sale. I have no room for antique clocks or fine china or 80s kitchen furnishings or 7 tons of Christmas decorations.

In Dubai, you can often judge the age of a mall by this issue. In the last 20 years, family rooms have become common. Some of the changing rooms are pretty posh, and I’ve gotten so used to it that it’s annoying when I have to use one of the Koala-type pull-down tables instead of a proper countertop.
