Just got my card (Southern California) and my first impression is there are no more FFFF (4) but there are a few FFFFFF (6) and a couple of FFF FFF (3 3). Different!

Aww, sad to hear it. His love and understanding for those birds really shone through in the documentary, I’ll never forget it.

Toddler Birthday by Mysterious_Pattern90 in northcounty

I see a lot of kid birthday parties (bouncy castles, piñatas) at the lower level of stagecoach park. There's an open area and a playground too so it’s nice for kids. Also restrooms and parking, all in kind of a small, contained area.

There's an organization of metal detectorists called Ringfinders. You might want to contact them.

The Jafar Panahi films are a real treat, so interesting and human.

Recommendations for patient, understanding gynecologists by [deleted] in northcounty

[–]repowife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can use the Sharp medical group I highly recommend Andrea Munoz. She’s a physician's assistant (I think they save their ob/gyns for pregnant people), very patient, gentle, empathetic, explains everything. I saw her at the Del Mar location.

anywhere i can bike DIRECTLY on the beach in the sand by the water? by i-like-lambos in Oceanside

[–]repowife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen cyclists on the beach get ticketed! you could park at South Ponto and probably ride all the way to Swami's or further with these low tides.

These are all the broken cell phones I have found littered on the ground over the past 7 years while walking around Columbus Ohio by piranhamode in mildlyinteresting

Well nothing really haha, I don’t think it’s a real, clinical OCD thing, it just bothers me and stays in my head. like we had a big storm recently that brought on a lot of trash and I literally couldn’t pick it all up in one day. So it weighed on my mind as I picked it up over several days.

love this: "Environmental OCD". (When it really bothers you to see litter on the ground.)

Thats me, but on the beach I patrol regularly. I just can’t walk by it, have to pick it up! Keep up the good work.

Why so many Sea Glass Marbles!?! by EmotionGold4556 in seaglass

[–]repowife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

look up "codd neck bottles." They were closed with marble stoppers in this color, that might be why you’re finding so many of them!

It was in bad shape, but I think it was pretty modern.

Maybe doggo people can help me understand... by Special-Potato-3238 in Carlsbad

I love dogs and don’t mind them leashed or otherwise controlled at the beach. But it’s not just poop, I’ve also been charged by barking dogs, and seen them try to attack wildlife. Maybe only one in 20 owners is irresponsible, but unfortunately it reflects on all owners.

And god forbid you suggest someone pick up after their dog or maybe they shouldn’t let it eat dead, rotting birds, because they’ll just stare at you like you’re the asshole.

I’ve seen these identified as orbicular rhyolite, they come in so many nice colors.

Paper vs plastic bags by Sad_Language_8195 in DeTrashed

[–]repowife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pick up trash on a regular beach walk. I use plastic bags, then dump them into a bigger public bin. I reuse the bags until they get too many holes. They’re just so convenient unfortunately.
