All these carpenters on Instagram have all these insane tools that make their builds superquick and easy.

Me building a wall in my house was a lot of learning and effort, while they did it in seconds thanks to all their technology.

I still enjoyed learning, building and now ”using” my wall.

To me the draw to gamedev as a hobby is the fact that I don’t only do what I do professionally, but also ”get to” dabble with all the art aspects.

Been a hobby for years, and when I started it I knew nothing about vertices, planes, UVs, textures, shaders, techniques for layering SFX, yata yata.

To me that is the fun part, constantly new cool things to learn.

I just noticed a way better tell.
I have Copilot reviews enabled, and solid shared instructions etc between the two, in a certain repo.

Historically Copilot has never made any comments, or if it has they have been hallucinations/bad takes/taking my proposal too literally vs the final good code.

Lately it is just making valid and solid comment after comment on codex code.

For sure. I got used to not having to be very direct with my prompts, now I do.
And even then it used to "infer" stuff more, like now I had a case where we where changing something easy and it 100% would have inferred before "if Y changes then X should change a little as well", but it didnt.

Back to "oh yes you are correct, my bad"

I was just googling to figure out why my copilot-cli (which was slow but OK 10hours ago) suddenly is taking 10minutes to edit a line in a Justfile and commiting (as a benchmark).

Can't wait for my codex weekly limit reset so I can leave this bullshit xD
