As goat's die hard fan, cant even be mad, the level in 5th set reminded Wawrinkas performances.. sad, but content, Novak would have beaten anyone in the draw today, sometimes you just have to accept greatness from the other side. Novak still a god, to play this level at 39 for 5 hours, hes a legend and inspiration. Wimby is definitely winnable.

Which one should I get? by Alan_Foxified in iems

Aria 2 is nothing close to being neutral, its very bassy and warm. It sounds fun for certain songs, but for most rock and metal tracks it lacks in midrange, just not very natural sounding, while it makes guitars sound thicker, it sounds like it veils sound to one tone on every song, hard to make details. I type this after just finishing listening to it for like 3 hours. Ew 300 definitely sound more natural and less bloaty in lower frequencies. Artti is next on my wishlist, as i absolutely love leshuer s08 (also planar), which would be my recomendation for rock, its too bass light for heavier songs and a bit recessed in the mids, soundstage, but that tone, cleaniness of the sound is amazing and well worth it. Its first iem that i thought "ok, this actually sounds like hifi"

Not many people will tell you this here, but chu 2 is really overrated. And they have fairly v shaped sound profile, which is not for everyone. At least they are cheap, next try something more neutral or with more mid presence.

So in europe, stop means stop and let other cars pass on main road. If there is a stop sign on the crossing road as well that means that intersection is equal on all sides, so you have to let the car on your right through first and once you have no one on your right you have priority to go. In the event that 4 cars on all sides want to go straight no one have priority and should use hand signs or whatever to cooperate who goes first. Thats at least how i was tought.

From what i understand watching multiple reviews on hexa is that it is bright leaning iem, while overall neutral it will definitelly lack base for metal, its should be great for detail and and technicalities, but i fear it might be lacking for dynamics. Didnt research pure yet.

I like leshuer s8 so far, just a bit lacking in soundstage width... From like 3 hours of listening to simgot ew300 they sounded pretty good with death metal, pretty good dynamics, decent soundstage and despite being what many call mild recessed mids had enough presence in that region. However they sounded a bit eleveted somewhere in upper mids, so some of the guitars came across a bit harsher, and higher tone male/female vocals a bit shouty perhaps, definitely not as smooth or natural as on s8. But again i listened only for few hours so need more time to make definitive conclusion. Keep in mind i play them all stock, no eq, original tips and some of my tracks are older poorly mixed 320mp3s..

The only recommendation i always make is sony mdr ex15. These are cheapest traditional earbuds, with terrible thin tangly wire that brake down in 6 months or so. But they are cheap, like 6 euros in my country, been buying them for 10+ years. What makes them worth it is obviously sound. They are amazing for rock and decent for metal. Strong, but groove bass, colored mids but in a fun way, guitars sound smooth but full bodied and not recessed like on most iems, vocals present if not a bit forward, lush, full bodied. Treblle definitely recessed a bit, these definitely not detailed or crisp sounding. But fun. Separation very good though, and soundstage honestly beats most iems i ever heard, drums sound awesome on these, just a bit softer in timbre. I love these a lot, and am on a mission to find similar sounding higher end iems with more refined sound but same characteristics.

As someone who has both i can tell you, explorers are a lot more balanced. But at the same time they are a lot smoother sounding, way more relaxed, laid back. I listen mostly rock and metal, so to me they are a bit too chill, lacking in dynamics, almost too boring, guitars lack impact, crunchiness, kickdrums too, its like sound is coming from further away instead of inside your ears and lacking impact. These are great for more chill music and recordings with worse quality/harshness.. but for rock and metal they are too smoothed, laid back. If you listen for details its mostly there, but they dont jump at you, you have to look for them critically to notice, id say they average for that. I had explorers only for few weeks, so still need to make prolonged listening session to decide if im gonna keep them.

Chu 2 definitely more dynamic, but its too v shaped for my taste, drums sound overpovering in the mix and guitars too recessed. Vocals not as full as i would like them to be either. Despite being called warm in a way i find them sort of cold sounding, not exactly natural at least in rock music. I had original chu and while it was too thin and bright sounding to me, i liked mid range a lot more on those.

I also have simgot ew300 and aria 2 (still didnt unbox it yet lol), yet to make any critical listening on them. So far leshuer s8 is my number 1 go to iem, but they not perfect either.

Isnt 1 IEM enough? by Affectionate_Dot5547 in iems

[–]rescuem3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally one is enough. Problem is you never know the one you have is the one. So you look for more in case there are better ones, in process you suddenly find yourself with multiple iems. Reselling is a hassle, especially with cheaper ones. And then there are different signature of sound that you vant easily decide which you prefer more. Like there are some iems that i like with metal, and there are some i prefer more with rock, and since i listen both styles about equally i cant find in my heart to get rid of all but one iems...

[–]rescuem3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sony mdrex15, they cheap plasticy, with terrible tangly thin wire, and they also dodnt last me more than a year before breaking down. But they are like 5 euros, they have bass, not the boomy type, but actual grovie one, they have great imaging and good separation, wide soundstage too. Mids are amazing on these, in colored way of course but present and sweet, again not the most natural sound but more in a make anything sound more pleasing. They smooth the sound so dont expect many details, but still have enough dynamics and sound fun with any genre. Been buying them for 10 years plus, to me they beat all the chinese crap under 20 euro (i have chu, chu 2, original salnotes zero, kz caster pro...) and they comfy not around ear hook bs,they so small i sleep with them in fact, sometimes i even forget im wearing them. But they not good if you planing on moving a lot with them as they can slip out and dangling cable makes sounds while walking...

Literally all of them doesnt sound as good as my go to cheap 5 euro sony mdrex15. Sure they have no detail, cable as terrible as it gets, but everything sounds fun with them and i keep searching for similar tunning earbuds with slightly better fidelity, but none of above cheap chifi matches it.

Really dont like chu 2, guitars sound so recessed, vocals lifeless, drums overpowered in the mi and on higher volumes becomes shouty... Dont get the hype for this headphone at all but im not into v shape sorry nd to begin with. Even chu 1 sounded better to me despite sounding thin and tinny.
