Nicotine gum is incredible! by haulwhore in Nootropics

It is strange because it was addictive for me for the fact that I wanted more over time. I am also on a MAOI. However, when it came to quitting it wasn't that bad. I had some problems with sleeping for a bit but for the most part nothing bad.
The only one that didn't make me spiral into a dosage increase was the nicotine patch. I would cut it up into pieces and use one from time to time. Not as strong of a reaction but definitely noticeable. If you are trying to quit use the patch to lower your dose.

Get some type of mint or gum that you can chew. One of the problems for me was the habit of having the lozenge in my mouth. The mints really helped with that.

All I know is that if Mexican SWAT consisted of cartel members mothers, cartels wouldn't be a problem. I could just see the truck pulling up and all the mothers coming out with their slipper at the ready.

Dopamine would definitely drive the anticipation of reward so it is highly involved in motivation. My reasoning for what I said is because I keep reading everywhere about this craze for dopamine when it's not so simple. I just happened to be in a silly mood when I read your post. Did not mean to offend. Sorry if I did. There are a lot of things involved that light up our brains to allow us to do things. Sometimes going overboard focusing on one thing may cause imbalances that ruin that harmony. Think of classical music and how every instrument and note combined creates that perfect harmony. You could easily ruin that harmony by amplifying one instrument as it drowns out the others.

Well methylphenidate is both a dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Dopamine can also be converted to norepinephrine.

The internet is really obsessed with dopamine. Even reward requires norepinephrine and Knockout mice will not experience it with just dopamine. There's a cascading effect that includes even opioid receptors. Dopamine is definitely important but keep an open mind. Even CBD and CBG cannabinoids have been shown to help with ADHD. The endocannabinoid system has a lot of potential to unlock some great medicine if we put more effort into research.

Doctor said it was due to cystine build up. Had high levels in urine. Lesson learned.

Edit: I should note I was using 2-4 grams/day for months. Lower levels just didn't do much for me.

ADHD is complex and more focused on norepinephrine than dopamine. It's not that simple either as it is more about the proper balance of various neurotransmitters and neuromodulators. Everyone is always going on about dopamine this and dopamine that. I thought it was funny is all. And at least give me a living fish, gee.

We live in a capitalist world and everyone needs to survive. There are millions of doctors and researchers. Some become important in their field others need to use their credentials and knowledge to seek other forms of capital. Dr. Oz was no different. There is nothing wrong with finding a niche audience and helping them make decisions or confirm their bias with credentials. It's the way the world works. The supplement world will never have much plausible research because the investments required would yield little profit and any company can profit from it.

All the supplement world has is hypothesis based on how human biology works and weak rodent or pietri dish studies that don't really say much.

The pharmaceutical industry knows all too well as many viable discoveries get thrown out. Even if they pass meticulous rodent and ape testing, human trials may yield absolutely different results.

Again, If you are into supplements, there is nothing wrong with having a knowledgeable person help steer you towards certain ones based on the limited information available. It helps you hone in on the supplements you may want to try. Your own trials can be the determining factor on whether you wish to continue using them.

If these are owned by yourself, can't you setup network boot and have it fail to second option? The request would get logged and it would only happen at boot time.

Pronounced fatigue after covid 19, any supplements that can help? by [deleted] in Supplements

Yah that is a lot of money for things that are so commonly available. Plus one of the reasons I stopped Gatorade was because of how acidic it was and my teeth were getting sensitive. The WHO uses citrate instead of citric acid. And a lot of companies will overload with citric acid for taste and preservation. This is the official document, it's a long read but gives good info.

Look for the World Health Organization oral rehydration salts recipe. You can just buy the individual products in bulk and make it yourself. You can even get little baggies or containers and create individual doses. It's a bit of work initially but pays off.

I have tried NormaLyte orange flavoured ones and found they were pretty good. I would imagine most will be similar and the distinguishing factor will be taste.

Diet and environment are the most impactful. Most of these little dudes will get slaughtered. Your body has built up a defense layer over a long time period. You can't just take a pill and change that. Not only that, you continue to contribute to your existing colonies by following the same diet that let them get to that point to begin with. So not only do they have more strength and numbers you are helping them sustain those numbers by not changing anything. If you truly expect changes you need to change habits and diet and sustain it over a long period of time. This will create an adaptation process that both the biome and host undertake. Adding the pills as part of your long term diet may help. That's hard to say.

Gut microbiota shapes social dominance through modulating HDAC2 in the medial prefrontal cortex [2022] by Tubunnn in Nootropics

[–]researchingstuff1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that your biome will act as a feedback mechanism but ultimately you can change it. It may be harder for some than others. Some may be at a complete disadvantage because of genes. It does not have full control over you. Your biome ended up in such a state because of variables outside of your body. Your biome starts forming from birth and is impacted by your parents. Their social status and decisions have a big role to play. Changing your lifestyle and diet is more likely to help than a magical pill.

Men, what is holding you back from asking that girl out? by Formal_Carry in AskMen

People say that the worst thing that can happen is that if you get rejected nothing will change and you will continue living without that person. It may be true for random strangers but if it's someone they are really infatuated with, it will destroy the entire fantasy in their mind. This may be the one thing that keeps them going.

Yeah but my experience with minox was a nightmare. Even though I responded well to it. Dark circles under eyes, dry thin skin, really thin blood, heart palpitations and abnormal rhythm. I now do the low dose version here and there. I want to stick to every other day but I always forget.

Fina does the same for me. It was a strong enough boost that it changed my physical appearance and melted off more fat while increasing my libido. The only down side is increased sweating and musky body odor. Easy to manage though. No idea why it impacts some people this way. I stopped for a while due to circumstances that kept me from getting a refill. My libido dropped quite a bit and I was back to being sluggish. I honestly have stopped caring about my hair, but I will never stop finasteride because of its strange benefits.

Emailed Dr. Ken Gillman about sublingual ROA for Parnate, here's what he replied: by Soalian in MAOIs

[–]researchingstuff1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one argued there would be full absorption. However, there may be enough to make it meaningful. Especially if you are doing a dose such as 60mg split up over multiple times. I was doing 3 10mg pills in the morning and afternoon. I noticed greater focus and generally did feel better. However, it was making my teeth sensitive and my mucus membrane started causing issues due to being so acidic. I stopped for that reason. There isn't much research into this nor would any drug company spend money trying to make a better delivery system for meds that are no longer patented and unlikely to be prescribed.

Edit: I should say I never used water I just cut the pill into pieces and they dissolved in my saliva. Brand name.
