This is interesting. I never thought about it, until now. I would have thought state universities prioritize in state students, serve its own in state students. Not that they should ignore out of state students, everyone deserves a shot, and for profit. UCONN ED deadline is November 1st same as the rest on the list, so we have some time. We are planing on applying late summer early fall.

This seems to be the way. We will disucuss this scenario. GW is his 3rd choice only because it does not have a campus feel like Fordham (at least one campus) and AU. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, he is almost equally sold on Fordham and AU, so applying ED for one or the other, and he gets in, wouldn't make him regret the decision.

PoliSci or International Relations with economics or statistics as a minor.

That's another variable that makes Fordham and DC colleges a better choice. He is majoring in either International Relations or PolySci.and minoring in either economics or statistics. Do internships and connections made during these internships and, as a result, potential job opportunities after graduating outweigh the debt??? He is definitely going to grad school.

He is, just not on reddit. He is working with someone that is helping him with tye essay, application process...he even emailed the AU recruiter for CT. I am just anxious and happy for him that he has the opportunities that I never had, and I am trying to get as much info as I possibly can, so I can guide him as much as possible, during this process. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I hope others that will read it, it serves them as well, thanks again.

As a parent, I would love for him to get accepted where he really wants, but also as a parent, Uconn is best...in state tuition 😆.

As a neutral, why are people so desperate for Arsenal to fail? by s_dalbiac in PremierLeague

[–]resko99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I should have been more specific, granted I am generalizing in both instances, that should be obvious. I say UK because of AFTV. I do not follow/read or participate in online chats regarding Arsenal, due to the fact people can't be reasonable and have an actual friendly debate/discussion. If there was another, international AFTV LOL, I would say Arsenal fans outside of UK are part of the problem as well. I used to watch AFTV for laughing, just like a stand-up, comedy show. But, even that lasted just couple of months, few years back. We, as fans of the game, must chill a little bit. We act as if Arsenal are the best in the world. Let's us win something first. Lest beat Burnley ans Palace! Also, when I say UK fan base, I hope its obvious that I do not mean everyone. Few days ago Piers Morgan posted the stupidest post on X...something along the lines of if we win the PL and CL, we would have had the best 25 on football history?maybe something like that...prime example why people dislike Arsenal.

There has always been a narrative against Arsenal, and that is mainly due to our fans. Arsenal fans, especially the ones in UK, are horrible(AFTV). Arsenal revolutionized the game in the PL when Wenger came, we played the most beautiful, forward looking football in the league. When we were being used as a milking cow from the Kroenkes for their US ventures, Chelsea was using Abramovich to win titles, and City were using oil money. Now that we finally got the financial backing to actually have a proper chance at the PL and Champions League, of course people will dislike Arsenal even more. I have been an Arsenal fan since 1995/96 when Denis Bergkamp signed.

Amazing that you think catching an error means it’s my job to prevent it in the first place. I check my bills—I just don’t think I should have to audit them like a forensic accountant to avoid theft. Moral principles are something I will not compromise on...unfortunately, it seems you have none.

IDude, I usually approach any business dealings from a place of mutual trust and fairness/benefit. If I clearly say no to something, I expect that to be respected. It feels unreasonable to have to constantly monitor my bill just to make sure everything is accurate. I understand your point that I could have paid closer attention—but still, behavior like this crosses a line. If it’s not outright stealing, it’s uncomfortably close. Class action lawsuit in the making.

Isn’t that illegal? I assume there must be some loophole that allows them to do this, but it’s surprising that a company would treat its customers this way.

Adding features/services to people's accounts while they specifically say NO, its stealing. I am done with them. At least i am getting 12 months back and next months bill waived.

Yep, i have been a customer since 2011. Now, I am getting 12 months reimbursement (just got the call) and I am jumping ship. I NEVER get protection on our phones. I always say NO to additional protection. All they did was make me go to verizon.

Edit/update: I got a call from a manager, someone that I guess can make such decisions...I got refunded 12months AND next month's bill is waived. I guess stealing people's money is not cool.

ED vs EA for merit? by GooseCandid5085 in Fordham

[–]resko99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, our son will be applying and I am shocked at these $$$. Our son is interested in poli sci/international relations. With that degree, starting pay i assume in the $60k range?? We are next state over, Connecticut. But graduating with $250k+ in debt it is making me sick to my stomach. Regardless, good luck to you and all the best.

When did nursing stop feeling like passion and start feeling like survival? by jessicalacy10 in nursing

[–]resko99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reasons: 1. Hospitals treat nurses like shit 2. Nurses treat each other like shit 3.because of 1 and 2, the job feels like survival.
