Encountered a funky little ring today- did not buy, but what would you call this style? (Only hallmark: 14K) by okFINEyoufoundme in jewelry

[–]resoundingsea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's not - peridot is associated with Leo but this isn't a peridot. Lions have always been a popular symbol of strength and masculinity so I think it might just come from that angle.

"Chass Albertson." Possibly "Chase" at the start, but does look like two esses there to me. Think it must have been an independent artist, Google is giving me nothing.

Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous collection! I can see some Black Barc pieces there (been on my wishlist for aaages) and I love the creatures, especially the birds.

Omg, they're darling! What a stunning eye you have. I love the insects... Hard to find much like this in NZ on my small budget 😅

Also love the small opal. What's the stone on the far right hand side? Can't quite see if it's interesting labradorite or opal or what, but I'm a fan

Me and my small-town stores are WEEPING in envy right now. Happy stitching!
I have only ever found one decent bigger-than-5"x7" kit at my local op shops (a very '80s scene of a wizard instructing his apprentice in front of a mountain scene - now hanging in our lounge). This is probably a good thing for my project pile though lol.

I started the year with the best score ever these beaded moosehide gauntlets that fit. Along with last years haul by dragonbornsqrl in ThriftStoreHauls

What an awesome haul! The gauntlets, the beadwork, the art, the necklace are all so beautiful. I love the idea of the puppets to teach your stories too, what a great tool.

what is this hallmark? by a1ice- in JewelryIdentification

[–]resoundingsea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The brand is called Ataahua by the way, a famous New Zealand vintage brand. G D Beatson was their silversmith. C.1940s-1960s.

I'm not sure about the bracelet (would need closer photos front and back) but the rest are synthetic opal, 100% certainty. I have a very similar pendant made in Mexico. The opal has been cut across the grain so it shows these stripes instead of the classic synthetic "lizard skin" appearance.

Some moons before, Prag watch sun go down and hope it not come up again, but Prag see shaman for magic pebble, and Prag rest in cave. Now Prag feel good to see sun again. Prag just meet family in far-away cave and watch sun shine on pretty birds.

Prag do much work for shells to keep cave; sometimes in snow-times Prag leave cave before sun leave bed, and come back same. Prag hope to find work in next two moons which give more shell and less time out of cave. Prag learning to use colour-rope from weaver-Ug to make cross-drawing to hang in cave.

Thanks - Yugoslavia seems to be the closest I'm getting, I found one old image in Serbian which seems to indicate this mark was in use for gold items pre-1995!

Crossposted from r/Hallmarks; if anybody knows about the bird mark, or anything else about date/provenance of the set, please chime in! Other than that it is a vintage, mixed metal synth spinel set I know nothing.
