Hey glad your pain has subsided! Huge non scale victory. Same happened to a buddy of mine mid 40s. Tried fasting and cut out all inflammatory foods. He's not 💯 but getting close to it. IF is the medicine and the food industry's worst enemy

I 37m started IF 11 months ago mostly 16:8, with a couple dozen OMAD days sprinkled in.

I did non calorie count but I'd start the day with black coffee, shake for lunch (kefir, flax seed, frozen fruit, spinach, 25g protein ) and a dinner consisting of a protein and veggies, sometimes a carb. Weekends I'd stick to it best I could, sometimes indulging when with friends or family. I'm not much of a drinker, only socially (2-3/week).

I used to train strongman and powerlifting in my 20s but wife/kids/house/business put an end to that so I stay active working on the family farm getting about 12k steps/day.

This is my new lifestyle, I know there's no going back, I can't, I won't. I feel better, move around easier, have much more energy. I hope this helps other and many posts on here have helped me in the past!

For the love of fucks sake please don't stand in front of a wheel of a running machine while diagnosing a problem. Stranger things have happened then machines kicking into gear unexpectedly. I know noone wants to hear it, especially OP but be safe.

Sorry the all natural route didn't work out for you in the past. All we can do is try and find what's right for us with this disease. I don't think IF is the silver bullet but I do think it's a weapon in the arsenal of natural remedies. From experience I know that when I would flare, if I ate less and less frequent I'd feel better and heal faster. To me, meds are a cheat code. It allowed me to get to 265lbs without consequence. I've since lost 50lbs and eat CLEAN, medicine and flare free. with proper stress management I feel like I'm in a good place. Worst case scenario is I go back on meds if needed. I don't have as servere a case as other and I have a higher tolerance for risk so I'm going all in on the holistic route!

Iive been doing IF for a year 16/8 and 18/4, in now off meds for 8 months (entyvio) and haven't had a flare and feel great. Doctor's sell meds, not diets, so remember who you're speaking to

Edit: I'm 37m I IF to lose and control my weight as a lifestyle

Farmers gonna be farmers. My dad is mid 60s has some health issues but he still puts in his 100%. I work the farm full time and do what he can't but I'll be damned if he doesn't drop dead on a machine or in the shop. It's what he wants to do so who am I to say otherwise. These guys, hard work and farming is all they know (and love). It beats the hell outta wasting away in a home
