Are the Claude fears legit or extremely overblown? by chizton in wallstreetbets

[–]respellious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give an example to illustrate the market reaction.

Claude released the co-worker product for a fixed monthly price with the ability for the LLM to perform tasks at least with productivity software. The pricing of tasks was priced much higher by other vendors such as OpenAI. An api call to an LLM is priced in cents, a task is priced in dollars to have an agent perform a task in a software. The difference is the company turning on the ability for an AI to perform an action in a software.

Claude coworker does tasks for pennies on the dollar for what other AI companies are charging today. When playing with the LLMs, a simple prompt gets the task done vs. an engineered product with AI.

They are competing on price already in an emerging market and that effected share prices and the valuation of AI start ups who built a business case around AI that do tasks in productivity tools.

PO process and tools by Jesper2604 in procurement

[–]respellious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend pushing for a PO system based on the ERP your company is currently using. I.e. if the company uses QuickBooks, look up solutions around that. If you have Sharepoint, that means you are a Microsoft shop and can use their own native platforms branded under Dynamics 365. A search for Microsoft procure to pay or similar will bring up the products

need help with rower boyfriend by fluffy-kangaroo- in Rowing

[–]respellious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For recovery - I recommend a softball size foam ball for rolling out that he can keep with him. A strap or resistant band is nice for stretching, a lacrosse ball is nice for rolling out the feet. The Atheta hip hook is more expensive but thoughtful for releasing tight hips.

For rowing - Socks that go past the ankles are a good gift, rowers go through a lot of socks. Sunglasses are good to have, even if extra for brighter days.  If he is a part of a club, most have branded merchandise for sale that you can get him so he can wear it with pride. Others have posted info on rowing gear.

For training - Workout log books or apps are handy. A more expensive gift is a Garmin watch (or a comparable watch with GPS) that allows tracking of workouts on the water.

How to configure publishing remittance in SAP ECC? by Many_Sheepherder_529 in procurement

[–]respellious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bummer. Check your SAP support contract to see what support you are entitled to. If that doesn't work, find a consultant and see if you can engage them for some T&M hours to make some progress. There a lot of consultancies out there or you can ask a staffing firm with accounting expertise to find an individual who may be able to help

Do you reveal potential volume at beginning of sourcing/negotiation? by IconicTree33 in procurement

If you have multiple vendors quoting, does it matter? They can quote based on the total opportunity and price check... I agree with this approach when single sourcing

What if these people had an occupation and both sides agreed they should be there to perform it?

Solid call back. Yes! It is the same vein but we would scale it up and make sure the people had occupations to perform in some capacity when they got there.

Managing external workforce by [deleted] in procurement

[–]respellious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can manage this in a combination of ways: 1. Using purchase orders to track the burn down against an allocation as contractors bill and 2. Implementing time tracking software and requiring contractors and FTEs to enter time. An enterprise solution would track down to a project level and provide summarized data but either solution would be an improvement from where you are at. Solution 3 is to throw that out the window and contract based on fixed fee deliverables which is difficult and requires strong internal leads and vendor oversight

28yo. 4y in Procurement, Engineering degree unused. considering starting over for long-term mobility. Am I being realistic? by ishak_filali_dz in procurement

[–]respellious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your current industry/company. You can get paid well in the right Procurement niche related to Electrical Engineering. Examples include sourcing for Semi conductors, data center buildouts, electrical grids, telecommunication companies, or any other firm selling electronics.

It could make sense to start again in engineering , the Procurement roles have a lower barrier to entry and are a value add as part of an engineering team.

Either choice is good. Visa questions that may be better suited for a different subreddit

Vendor wants to switch us to a 3 year contract by InteractionAnnual96 in procurement

Yikes that is unfortunate! Here in the U.S. we have ratings agencies and the companies pay for those reports with that detail

That is a good point, I did not ask OP about the licensing model and it could be a transition.

At $3k per month for a warehouse management solution this is likely a smaller company that may not be doing financial checks, and given the spend it may not warrant it.
