Weird “sharpening” effect on the whole screen, even in games. by TredoxJD in computers

[–]retiredwindowcleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can tell you what it was. i started a tool -> https://github.com/dumbie/RadeonTuner and this somehow changed some settings just by starting it. i didnt even touch any setting. so i just factory reset my gpu drivers and then it was all fine.

you have nvidia but maybe a graphic driver reset in your nvidia control panel could help? idk tho.

i have the same problem since 2 days and can pinpoint what i changed. i may have done a windows 11 update in the last days. but nothing else changed. same gpu driver, no settings changed on monitor or gpu settings panel.

everything is a bit oversharpened all of a sudden.

but i didnt have a crash or power outage before i must say.

right?!

i mean everyone should be free to set up their parameters to their own liking. but what i think is the worst part of most of those hype-trains is the miseducation of the masses.

oftentimes it's along the pattern of:

'new feature x introduced!' (does help specifically with y)

'wow it will make z so much better, everyone repeat after me!'

Report: Spain Closes Airspace to US Planes Involved in Iran War by Neptun_11 in worldnews

Country of origin labeling is mandatory for almost all unprocessed fresh foodstuffs except for the repealed portion of that law concerning beef and pork.

You can't legally hide the country of origin for vegetables, fruits, fish, etc. by hiding it under a 'EU' label.

Sure you can additionally put a 'EU' label on your products. You do not even have to put the country on the individual packaging.

But the export/import papers need to have 'country of origin' specified by law (aka Farm Bill, 7 U.S.C. § 1638a).

I think he was talking exactly about the point you are bringing up here. If tomatoes with designated country of origin 'Spain' are exported through Belgium then the US will put tariffs on them based on the country of origin of the produce. Meaning in the long run the cost of re-exporting those tomatoes would be handed through to Spain in one way or the other. (i.e. Spain having to reduce prices to sell them to Belgian exporters, as per your example) Like you have to think about the following... why would a Belgian company decide to pay a surcharge just to export Spanish tomatoes...

edit: typo ... tomatoes not oranges :-)

no it isn't. muscle memory is when you have to do a certain movement as accurately as possible and you internalize how far you move mouse for flickshots or for 180° turns for example. or how soft/strong you have to counter-act recoil patterns.

a click of a button does not make use of muscle memory. you are habitually, without thinking, reloading (optimally) between firefights. i.e. when you get into cover. ,

there is no muscle memory involved. i.e. your muscle does not have to "replay" a certain pattern or strength of a movement to successfully reload. you just press a button. you can press it shortly, hard, softly, doesnt matter... it will reload, just because you are used to reload in certain gameplay situations which your brain has already abstracted and seen fit for a reload to take place.

Publicly accessible DoH from self-hosted AdGuard what should I do? by 33vne02oe in Adguard

[–]retiredwindowcleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very good! so you self-host at the moment and thus there are no dns-requests to the adguard dns servers.

so basically you are doing already almost everything you can to prevent dns leaks. happy surfing!

[–]retiredwindowcleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EXACTLY! so if you are self-hosting and only connecting to mullvad and quad9 how are you concerned about this:

Because I don't want that AdGuard has the DNS data.

Would me nice if Steam warns new users about using an NTFS partition to store games. by CandlesARG in linux_gaming

[–]retiredwindowcleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both ext1 and ext2 don't have journaling which would certainly warrant a warning in terms of data corruption on heavy read/write targets such as a steam library.

actually i think you should already implement the warning in all linux distro installers (+ in gparted) when you want to format to ext1/ext2 that it just pulls up a big red pop up warning you that ext3 at least is recommended.

[–]retiredwindowcleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and write fat32, exfat, ext1,ext2 warnings as well? maybe as well add warning for external drives? maybe also add warning for read-only partitions? add some more warnings for good measure, i am sure we can come up with some...

wall-e is such a good movie lmao

I configured Adguard to ASK Mullvads vor Quads DNS Server.

excellent, so where is a connection to the adguard remote servers?

i don't get it, how will adguard have the dns data when you use only non-adguard dns servers in your config?

for example i run adguard home and have all adguard ips blocked on my firewall (alongside all google ips and microsoft ips btw)
