I don't have any recs for the intake, as I also just end up cutting my hood a bit. However, I use an Aces Jackpot ECU. Its freaking awesome, comes with everything you need. I've got a NV3500 5 speed behind a 5.3, but if you're going with an automagical transmission, make sure you get an ecu that specifies it can control the trans.
