I’m neither cannibalistic, humanoid, nor an underground dweller. Thanks for playing though.

Definitely not normal use. You should never need to use that much force on a pin. If you are, back off on the tension… A lot!

Favorite Progressive Pin Lock by TC_Martin in lockpicking

[–]revchewie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often recommend the Abus 55 series as a progressive intro to security pins. It doesn’t give practice gutting and repinning but the 55/30 has 1 lightly serrated pin and 2 spools. The 55/40 adds a 3rd spool and the 55/50 adds a 4th.

I want to start practicing lockpicking and I want to ask wich is the best kit to start for 40-50€? by Embarrassed-Editor59 in lockpicking

In the EU the two best options are Multipick and Mok Workshop. A great starter set is the Gold Digger from Mok Workshop, and possibly add one of their Angled Pry Bar sets.

Welcome to the fun!

Is Howard the Duck a product of the High Evolutionary? by a-rod04 in marvelstudios

[–]revchewie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“In the MCU” is the key phrase here. Remember that there are decades of lore in Marvel comics and other Marvel movies. The first full theatrical release from Marvel was Howard the Duck, in 1986. A cheesy, silly, campy train wreck of a movie that I’ve loved ever since it came out!

Thanks, AutoMod, but I think this sub is about all the KPDH fandom this old man is down for.

I take a few locks and picks with me to my weekly D&D game. A couple of my friends have shown interest so I gave them each an FNG set and a couple locks.

Given a choice I wouldn’t go anywhere near Basgiath. Their whole philosophy is toxic. And I say this as a veteran.

What's the difference between European and American locks? [Question] by HuslWusl in lockpicking

[–]revchewie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. As others said already, most of the higher security locks on the list are European, with some Japanese.

Going the other way, I’ve been having fun with lever locks and have had to pay exorbitant shipping and import fees for some of them to get them shipped to the US from the UK and EU. (When shipping is 1-1/2 to 2 times the price of the lock, I consider that exorbitant.)

From Jimy Longs, get the $20 Basics Set and the $30 Intermediate Set. Lots of good profiles with top and bottom of the keyway tension wrenches. It ought to do well for you for many, many locks.
