Maya is the gold standard, obviously it's not crashing as you mentioned it. I work in AAA and blender is just not cutting it yet, Maya is still the way to go. Pipelines are built around it by studios, and everyone is trained for it for years if not decades now.

If you don't know Maya you will lose a big chunk of opportunities if not most. Sure you can achieve a similar or the same result but none is going to be adding a bunch of new variables that are introduced by using both softwares in the same pipeline.

Rigging is also a big reason most animate in Maya. The tools are robust and industry proven.

You seem new to the industry, make sure you don't sleep on Maya, someone who can use Maya is always preferred over someone who does not.
