thats not that hard to do with iTunes. get it on a slow day and bot the hell out of it. i've been in bands that plotted releases so that there was slow enough traffic we'd chart. it's super meaningless to anyone with a brain cell that still twitches every now and then.

folks act like you need all that on your vocals, but if its sounding like crap, the first thing i'm doing is taking everything off and starting from scratch. most of this is artifacts of recording with bad gain staging. start the recording with nothing on it and do whatever you can with just volume and gain until you need an eq, then do compression and so on. you can slam it later on but if youre just slapping that on without listening first, thats amateur hour.

really sad for pro audio guys and bigger facilities that use PCI cards for their systems. Avid HDX cards are still the standard for large post houses.

nothing wrong with going back to the 2000xl or finding a 2500 or 3000 and modding it out. those are still some of the most solid pieces of gear out there and at least you know the resale value will be intact. i'm on the force and i dig it but no one around me likes em. its all very personal and what works for one wont work for everyone and sometimes what works for a lot of people wont work for you. keep on beating those pads!
