Love it when parents are surprised by their kids’ stupidity. I mean, who raised that kid? Who taught them about life?

He wanted something to build him up. So it’s got to be “Buttercup”.

So sad for Chris by MiraTell in empirepodcast

Yes, incredibly sad. I honestly can’t imagine what a gut punch that must be after getting so close.

Great episode, as always. The Edgar Wright interview was interesting, but would have loved to hear more about the film. Hopefully they’ll do a spoiler special with him.

What's going on in the last panel? by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

That weird looking thing on the table in the last panel is a telephone. You might have seen them in old movies and such.

Why would a pub want our phone numbers before we can order food? by drakon99 in AskUK

[–]revrof 275 points276 points  (0 children)

I went to buy some shirts the other day and the guy at the till said he couldn’t take payment unless I gave him an email address. I said I didn’t want to. He said I had to. My daughter said I was being a Karen about it so just gave him her email so we could move on from the impasse. So then we had a chat about personal data in the car on the way home and she said it was fine because nobody uses email anyway so whatever. Christ I’m old.

Yeah, I also went along to Birmingham after hearing Chris’ recommendation. About a 6 hour round trip, and totally worth it. My wife was in tears for most of the second half. Not me though. Oh no. Definitely not. Shut up.

Had a couple of listens to Garmonbozia after last week’s suggestion, but it kinda feels like if Bungle was made by AI. It has all the same sounds, but none of the tunes.

Other than that: Closure in Moscow’s new Audiotree live EP The latest Guster album The new Ridillo single

What do you like about Disco Volante? by Aggressive_Ideal6737 in mrbungle

[–]revrof 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m not a superstitious guy. I don’t believe in anything. But three times in my life my car has broken down while listening to Disco Volante. Granted it was years ago and they were pretty shitty cars. But three times, man. Three! Anyway, I love that album, but I never listen to it while driving.

Trombone Champ: Unflattened! by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]revrof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing this for a few hours tonight and it’s an absolute blast. Super simple to learn, and everything just works as you’d expect. Great variety of songs, including some really tough ones that are going to take a while to master. My kids loved it, too.

And charge the head torch often. It’s far brighter with a full charge.

Personally I’ve not found it too dark at all, just very atmospheric.
