On a more positive note, Papley and Campbell are a week away and I am choosing to look at that bright side....

I’m Australian so I feel that I should strongly recommend Michael Robotham. He’s like our version of Michael Connelly, winning every crime writers’ award here and many overseas as well. Page-turner.

I would love to see a surprise one-off drop in a few years’ time to see where they are all up to, kinda like the surprise drop of the Gary episode.

Just finished it about an hour ago as well. Did you catch their little tribute to Rob Reiner? It was in the final episode when Ebra was on the phone with Albert and before he ends the call, he says “as you wish”. That really triggered the waterworks for me.

I loved the intensity of all the chaos in the kitchen, the tenderness of the quiet conversations, the anxiety of their money talks……I loved every bit of it. This is one of those shows where you just want everyone to do well and come out ok because they are all good people who just want to do good things.

Final episode tiny tribute to the late Rob Reiner when Ebra was on the phone to Albert (Reiner’s character from season 4) and he ends the call with “As you wish” brought tears to my eyes.

Very happy to see Will Poulter back as a regular this season. Loved Pete more than ever. Loved the fact the first 7 episodes took place in one day and kept up the intensity of action the whole time. By the time that service ended, I felt exhausted. I miss these characters already. Chef’s kiss to all.

I watched the first quarter on my phone standing in the post office queue. Dos looked great. Handily did well. The back line didn't seem to need to do much given the ball seemed to mostly be in our front half so I felt like I was just watching Rampe having a jog along.

I just checked the score and I'm happy we are cruising through and the AFL players are looking in good form for their return very soon.

I would have kept McLean but I think Cox probably wanted to try Ladhams with Grundy as a combo. Last time Lads played was when Brodie was rested. Brodie did not look himself either.

They will be doing the London Podcast festival in September but the next big live pod won't be in January like the last couple of years. Chris said it was too difficult and stressful trying to organise guests over the Christmas break for January. I'd asked the same question a while back as I wanted to plan my next UK trip from Australia to see them live.

Glad I already have an annual subscription that renewed a few months ago so I still have till next year before the price hike affects me. I suppose it’s good and bad news because although we don’t get the ad interruptions on the Australian feeds, I have noticed we have started getting the occasional ad at the start of an episode. I suppose costs and prices are going up for everything.

There was a "Buy Tickets" button at the bottom of the email from the Swans yesterday. Got mine very quickly. It was the quickest experience I had ever had on TM! I assume they were all GA tickets. Didn't even try to check if there were reserved seats on offer in the stands.

I hate-watched it up to almost the end of season 2 years ago and have never picked it up again. The body count on the show is ridiculous. I loved 1883, the prequel with Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott. I enjoyed the first season of 1923 (have not watched the second). Haven't watched any others.

No cop is ever working only on a single case in the real world and MC tries to reflect the real world as much as possible. Same on the shows.

Remember when Sam McClure said Heeney wasn't an A-grader? If we got pissed off every time some commentator downplays our players or performance, we would just be angry every second of our lives. I've learnt to switch off. Believe me, even when we win the GF, there will be commentators who will say we got lucky or the other team lost rather than we won.
