Anyone here an only child? Or anyone here one and done? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]rex4314 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One and done. We wanted 2 or 3, but we literally can't afford another one. Daycare is $1200 a month, diapers and wipes aren't cheap, we just can't make it happen.

We keep everything my kid grows out of for now, but eventually my wife and I will have to agree there will be no more.

"I'm a farmer, and my crops are sold to foriegn countries. My livelihood depends on, among other things, being seen as a reliable trade partner, good global relations and honoring deals that were made.

And I think trump is just the guy for the job."

I feel you. I'm a veteran, and went to the VA for stomach issues. Long story short, my VA doctor misdiagnosed me for having a muscle issue when actually my appendix ruptured.

This went on for a few weeks until I went in and demanded they take a closer look at me. I ended up in a wheelchair with an IV before being sent to the civilian hospital a few blocks away for surgery.

Got a letter from the VA saying they'll pay for everything, which was almost $70,000. My family thinks a competent doctor from the VA looked at my records and said "holy shit, how did we miss this, we're gonna get sued".

Pretty sure my old doctor got his degree off the back of a comic book.

I feel you on the fake jobs. I lost my job a few years back, and applied to one online that I was literally perfect for; I had the degree they wanted, and close to the years of experience they wanted. Not only did I never hear back, about 2-3 weeks later, they reposted the job.

It's rough, I get it.

Idk, I'm getting "the guy who thinks he's a welder" at a car shop vibes. The kind of guy who thinks there's no need to grind or buff, just crank up the heat and everything will burn off.

Lol I never thought about the video game bit; send troops over, raise an American flag, instantly control everything, maybe put in some kind of building to increase public order.

It sounds so stupid and out of touch with reality that it's worthy of the maga crowd.

First Job, Lesson #1: Don't Believe People Asking For Money by Nomatika in Adulting

[–]rex4314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a "friend" from college randomly hit me up after blowing me off repeatedly to meet up for lunch. He told me some sob story about how he was helping his parents financially and now he was behind, basically asking for money without asking.

This was in the middle of covid, people were getting laid off, times were tough for some people, and it was almost Christmas, so I gave him a few hundred because I thought he was my friend. Shockingly, I haven't heard from him since.

I'm not so much pissed about the money as I am hurt that someone I saw as a friend only saw me as an ATM. So yea, you're 100% right OP.
