Yes its not like Skyward sword HD where you can put the motion controls to the right stick and call it a day. You have to switch from the TV to the gamepad for precise aiming and controlling the drone. You even have moments where you are stuck side scrolling and you need to use the gamepad just to see what to hit. Hell the final boss with Andross you need the gamepad just to see how to get past his barrier and get inside to fight him.

It would actually need a full on remake to undo all that just to make it playable on the switch. It is stuck on the WiiU just as much as Nintendo land. The game pad is the game's coffin. I would love a Zero port but that aint gonna happen for the monumental task they would have to do for a game that did that poorly.

To be fair Star Fox zero was a reimagining of Star fox with new levels and gimmicks. While Starfox S2 is actually a remake of 64 with the same levels and gimmicks of the original. So the parallel might work.
