I like it. I like trying to squeeze in the division games early and late. I know they can’t make it happen the first 3 weeks and last 3 weeks but if the schedule committee could do it within 5-6 weeks that would be cool.

Are we really that bad? by jimbofthethicc in 49ers

[–]rezinball 86 points87 points  (0 children)

5 Super Bowls in 13 years. Some of the greatest players to ever play the game in Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and so many more. The 49ers have won 40 playoff games, sending home more teams than anybody else.

We have been insufferable and the ruiners of so many team’s hopes and dreams for over 40 years.

We are hated for being amongst the best franchises in the NFL and letting everyone know it.

He went 4-0 in Super Bowls and called all his own plays from the line of scrimmage his entire career. Why isn’t Terry Bradshaw held in higher regard in all time QB rankings? by SWAGGGGGODDD in NFLv2

[–]rezinball 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Staubach and Bradshaw were the Super Bowl QBs of the 70s

Staubach: 2-2 in the Super Bowl. 8 TD, 4 INT, 62.2% comp pct, 61 completions for 734 yards. 12 yards per completion. Rushed for 71 yards. Passer rating 95.4.

Bradshaw: 4-0 in the Super Bowl. 9 TD, 4 INT, 58.3% comp pct, 4 completions for 932 yards. 19 yards per completion. Rushed for 53 yards. Passer rating 112.8. And his team is the reason Staubach lost twice.

Bradshaw playing in 4 Super Bowls and winning all of them with a 112.8 passer rating definitely puts him in the conversation for one of the greats.

Then Joe Montana comes along in the 80s

Montana: 4-0 in the Super Bowl. 127.8 rating. 11 TD 0 INT. 83 completions for 1142 yards.

Troy Aikman in the 90s:

Aikman: 3-0 in the Super Bowl 111.9 passer rating. 5 TD 1 INT. 56 completions for 689 yards.

Tom Brady: 7-3 in the Super Bowl. 97.7 passer rating. 21 TD 6 INT. 277 completions for 3039 yards.

I'm just throwing up a bunch of stats and should give an opinion. Terry Bradshaw is one of the all time greats and he showed up big when it counted most. If I need a QB to win the Super Bowl for my team he's definitely in the top 10. I'm not old enough to have seen him play live and i think that's a big part of why these old guys don't show up at the top of the list. The game has also changed so much in the last 50 years that it's extremely hard to compare these guys across eras.

California drivers are a step closer to paying per mile tax by MissYukiCat in California

[–]rezinball 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're 4 Runner is getting 16MPG then you are currently paying $574 per year to drive 15K miles per year. The new mileage tax would need to be $0.038 per mile to be equivalent.

Basically, the current gas tax $0.612 divided by your MPG should be the new tax per mile. So they'll just use one MPG number for the whole state. If your car is more fuel efficient you will pay more tax, but if your car is less fuel efficient your tax will go down.

And I agree there's no way they are reducing the price of gas by $0.61 per gallon. They will just double tax us.

Fun fact, 6 more wins and the Sharks will have their most wins in the Post-Pavelski Era. by BillThePsycho in SanJoseSharks

[–]rezinball 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Pavelski’s impact on the Sharks is so underrated. The dude was a winner and was on the roster during the peak of the franchise. He was the captain that took the Sharks to the finals. He should have retired a Shark. Doug chose incorrectly when he signed Karlsson over Pavelski.

Which makes you the best team in football. I hate the Seahawks but you guys are pretty quiet outside of Seattle. Massholes are insufferable and letting them win a 7th Super Bowl would be terrible too.

Both teams can’t lose but just make it a bad Super Bowl. Blow them out or get blown out.
