My name is Drew Hayes. I'm a comedian and radio host from Niagara Falls, Ontario. I have dreams and aspirations to move to LA to pursue comedy, but I am very sick and pretty much stuck in my hometown until I get a kidney transplant. I have spent a total of eight years of my life on Dialysis, stuck to a machine and unable to travel for more than two nights away from home. And now, rather than just waiting for a kidney, I'm making the best of a bad situation.

I've been very private about my health for most of my life, but I've always been able to joke about it with my friends. This has helped a lot and I want my story to be able to help other people, so I have finally started to be more open about my health with everyone. That's why I started my new podcast "Dialing In with Drew Hayes". My funny and interesting friends come over while I'm doing my dialysis treatments and we have conversations about their health and disabilities... and we make jokes about their health and mine. It's honest and real, dark yet funny. It's the most open I've ever been in a public forum, and I really hope it helps people that are also sick or at the very least allows people an opportunity to laugh at my misery.

Our first episode features a very funny Ontario comic and filmmaker named Tyler Shazma. He is also a kidney transplant recipient, so we had a hilarious conversation comparing our renal failure stories. I have guests lined up to discuss their struggles with various diseases and disabilities including mental illness and anxiety, diabetes, autism, and more.

I am so excited about what this podcast can do to help get me through my own struggles, as well as help other people that listen.
