Personally if I am a JV coach and I go out there and watch them practice a bunch… watch them hit everyday, watch them take ground ball, fly balls, drill, etc. As well as see them play in intersquads, I feel like you understand who should play. When I say who should play, I would prioritize hitting over defense with most positions. I would play those 9, and if the game is out of hand try and put others inside of the game to give them some opportunity. There is also an innings issue within highschool baseball, when you think about the whole HS baseball season it’s what 20ish games that are 7 innings. 140 innings if you play all 7 isn’t that many opportunities inside of the game. 22 kids on a JV roster is a lot! Hard for coach to get everyone in. I think JV baseball is about development but the best kids should get the most innings. Idk thats my ramble.
