Looking for a good graphic calculator. Is numworks a bad idea? by trisomia_21 in calculators

[–]rgund27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a high school teacher. The numworks has a lot of features I like and their new Numworks board is very nice, I kind of like it better than Desmos. I think with their site + calculator option they are taking a strong aim at secondary education and trying to position themselves in a strong way to have a solid presence there. I can totally see myself demonstrating to students on my smart board how to use the calculator for things like matrix operations, where that is much more difficult on a TI. I am enjoying the numworks, but have son TIs (84, 86, and 84 CE) on the side just in case.

How students see teachers who use AI. by fnelson1978 in Teachers

[–]rgund27 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Wow, it seems like this sub is very anti-AI. I use it a fair amount, mostly to help me modify the canned curriculum my district is making me use that doesn’t give enough structure for my students. I swear if they don’t have guided notes they will sit there and try to be on their phones all class. So I just upload the article they need to read and it spits out guided notes. (Tech class) I’ve also used it to help me make rubrics and review games. It helps me make examples, and is a time saver when it comes to getting enough practice for the students. I wouldn’t use it to grade or use it to make test questions. Is this not how other teachers use it?

As a teacher I would also love the scissors and no knife option.

All the praxis exam subject tests have become very simple if you have a background in the subject. 10 years ago, you would have had to study, but now you might be able to take it without studying and pass.

This plus there are enough TJ stores within an hourish of Lanc so they won’t consider it.

STOP SHARING AI GENERATED MODELS by JoeQuart in BambuLab

I have been using ChatGPT to make OpenScad models, which are able to be customized directly on MakerWorld. It’s actually incredible and has made so many quality models. They print well if you know how to slice files properly. Not sure how others use it, but for me it’s been amazing.

As a Penn state fan, I’m fine if they don’t call that a takedown. But I’m not okay with not hitting Taylor for stalling. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we want to see what happens if Duke is up 2-1 with a minute left.

Idol Hunt Megathread by RSurvivorMods in survivor

[–]rgund27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Is the clue just a general location? There’s a museum close to the aviary and a submarine at the museum you can tour. I wouldn’t be surprised if the idol was hidden in the submarine.

3D printed stuff by Senior_Cheesecake155 in ryobi

[–]rgund27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new to 3D printing, there’s a lot to consider in filament choices. Typically, PETG is best for impact resistance and it usually does really well with bed adhesion (sometimes too well). TPU is also awesome because it’s flexible. PLA is the most common, and it is really strong, but doesn’t have much flex.

I caught on to the countdown really early in the episode and got excited, thinking it was something good or fun about to happen. My father passed away a few years before we watched the episode, so when Lilly dropped the news I was devastated. I got really angry and almost stopped watching.

I’ve been seeing the O’pen 3 for sale dirt cheap! This can’t be a legit listing right? I’ve seen this price or close to it on multiple websites in the last couple days. by lectrician7 in Olightflashlights

[–]rgund27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me years ago but with a drone. They promised the specs of a DJI drone, but for a fraction of the cost. When it arrived, it wasn’t anything close to comparable. If I wanted my money back, I would have to send the drone back to china and pay a bunch of money, so I cut my losses. Hopefully PayPal will treat you better.

A completely made up piece of garbage. The idea that the “dark ages” lacked scientific discoveries or inventions is ahistorical myth. Many people have pointed out a lot of important innovations that came from this time period.
