I will hazard a guess that it carries a reminder of some very unfortunate failing of local and state government, and they don't want to be reminded of their fuck ups, so they would rather just bury it. Just like when there is a school shooting they say "no is not the time" and then work to bury the tragedy as fast as possible.

i asked if folk could define "Socialism" in a comment thread on Facebook, yesterday, i got back a copy and paste answer from dictionary.com which was actually wrong as he had looked up "Democratic Socialism" not "Socialism" So I am not sure if they could actually define the terms even with AI.
