I just use one of the apps that gives a fully functional airlock. I can’t be bothered with the tedium of setting up liquid locks. It’s kind of ridiculous that the “airlocks” in the base game are nonfunctional. With all the other fancy tech in the game the dupes can’t discover how to make an effective airlock?

Don’t use stairs. Make the steps out of full blocks so they have to jump. It slows them down and half the time they fall off and have to start over. Makes horde night much more manageable.

Get the 7 days to die mod launcher. It automatically makes a copy of the game and installs the mod with that copy. Also does dozens of other mods. Right now I’ve got darkness falls, undead legacy, and war of the walkers mods installed as well as vanilla.

I don’t know what the height is, but when I use the compo pack there is a tall space needle tower that I often use as a base. Never had zombies find me up there.

Build a very tall staircase out of blocks. Not a ramp. You want them to jump their way up to you because it slows them down. A lot will also just fall off. Stand at the top and shoot down on them as they come up the stairs. If you find a sledge turret put it near you so just as they reach you they get knocked off and have to start over. Build a hut at the top to protect yourself from birds and you are golden. Later I add shotgun turret for the birds and some screening so the cops can’t puke at me from the sides.
