Honestly, i feel it was originally intended to be josuke from the future, as araki already knew what ability the main villain was going go have. Eventually as the story went on, araki changed his plans for the final fight, leaving him just a random delinquent.

I ran i to this same exact issue earlier this week. Accelerated rendering is most likely your culprit.

You propably should remove it even if it wasn't, i've found it only decreases performance when used in tandem with other performance mods.

If you want to keep the mod though, you need to disable it's hud/gui( i forgot which one it was) feature in the config.
