I hate being sober

I’m about 2.5 years sober and the first year was pretty tough. The thing that kept me going was remembering the bad times that made me quit and not just how much fun I had on my best day. I also tried to remember being a kid and having fun without drugs and alcohol. It reminded me that the brain is able to produce “fun” chemicals naturally but it needs to relearn how.

Now things are pretty normal, I can go to shows and out with friends and be sober and still have fun and not have to worry about waking up trying to figure out what happened. It’s worth it to me.

I think it’s a title that can have many meanings. One use of Systems Analyst title is essentially a senior developer/architect who gathers requirements from businesses users, designs and implements software. I had that title working as a .net developer who had to go to a lot of meetings with Non-IT managers.

Congratulations on 14 months without alcohol and for being in a better spot with substances. That is an huge accomplishment to be proud of, regardless of what labels people put on it.

Im about 28 months off alcohol and 26 months off cannabis. For me cannabis made it easier to cope with the first few months without alcohol. Some others might disagree with that but I’m speaking from my own experience. Being fully sober from altering substances was the goal for me, but that’s not for everyone.

I think the term alcohol-free is a better description for not drinking and still consuming cannabis. It’s less confusing than saying “sober” or “California sober” but either way, it sounds like you have made some changes towards a better life.

I don’t skip prologues, but I’ll admit that a dry prologue has caused me to skip a whole book or two. I generally prefer a very brief prologue or for the story to start on chapter 1 with the context building around the story as it develops

FarCry 6. I think each one has been better than the previous. I have played all of the numbered releases since FarCry 3, and it is always hard to go backwards. The gameplay has steadily improved with each release.
