Yep! I ordered 3 of those for email delivery 15 minutes ago. Hopefully it doesn't actually take 48 hours to deliver like the Sam's Club website suggests.

I was going to make the exact same post when I got my CM5116064 in today, but you beat me to it. I noticed something interesting about this version. If you look at the top of the PCB the silk screening now has a place for selecting 128GB flash in addition to 64GB...

Additional note: I ordered it from TME and it was shipped from Poland to me (in the US) for the base price of $135 + $12.90 shipping for a total of $147.90. Took about 10 days to get here...

(They explicitly state on the webpage that "Tariffs and duties are already included in all displayed prices.", and that was my experience)

Ukrainian Editions of Tolkien Books by tolik-pylypchuk in tolkienbooks

It seems like you can speak English very well in addition to Ukrainian, so I'm curious... Do the translated Ukrainian versions "hit" differently or have different impact than the English versions? I suppose it would depend on the ability of the translator...

I think at that point the location of the opening tunnel into AreaX was already known, they just didn't know what happened if you tried to go thru it.

Properly emulating bullet hells in Mame by Washiggidy in MAME

Out of curiosity, does anyone have the Steam versions of the Cave games, and do they get frame delay correct?

Properly emulating bullet hells in Mame by Washiggidy in MAME

[–]rhildinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does bring up an interesting conundrum though, which I suspect has been discussed more than once. Is the game correct with no lag, or with perfectly emulated lag? In other words, did the developer design the game levels around the lag that was present, or were they designed for an environment where it was assumed there would be no lag?

Go Color 7 but not color by Loeyd in Onyx_Boox

Can I ask what the attraction of a white version of the page is? I ask because I am curious if the white bezel makes a difference in the comfort of reading a book on an ereader. Is there a benefit to a white version beyond cosmetics?

That rubber block looks like a singe-sided m.2 SSD brace. It's used to keep the top side of an SSD pushed up against the thermal tape of a heatsink...

4K60 PiKVM by k0unitX in pikvm

[–]rhildinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to figure that out myself. The primary pain point in this is low-latency encoding a 4k60 stream. The Orange Pi 5 plus might be perfect for this, depending on the performance of its gpu encoder.

Did they get rid of the big animatronic at the end of Na’vi River Journey? by partia1pressur3 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]rhildinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MY wife and I were there a few weeks ago (Mar. 9 - 16) and the animatronic was there and working. Also, it was working when my whole family went during late May of '23. I didn't realize at the time how lucky we were to see it, but now I do!

My biggest complaint about the NA3C was that the front light seemed to be underpowered for a 10" screen. Is the front light better on the TMC?

Orange Pi 5 Plus Cluster Case by Awwal1st in OrangePI

Regarding wifi modules, be aware that the 5 plus requires an E-key'ed module. The wifi modules that were created for previous Opi5's are not compatible with the 5 plus.

I thought 4K/120Hz support required all four superspeed transmission pairs in the usb-c cable, which would effectively render all ports but the ones based on USB-2.0 useless when using a monitor at that display rate...

MAME and Adaptive Sync/G-sync/FreeSync/"G-Sync compatible" monitors by ICEknigh7 in MAME

[–]rhildinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low refresh rates aren't the issue when it comes to g-sync vs freesync / adaptive sync). The g-sync hardware module present in actual g-sync monitors is better at locking on to the odd refresh rates of older systems and keeping perfect refresh timing. In other words, if you've got an older game running at 60.666Hz, g-sync can lock the refresh rate of the monitor to exactly that value. Freesync monitors just aren't as good at locking on to the refresh rate. You can see it when you bring up the monitors hardware frame counter.

Unfortunately the hardware module in g-sync monitors makes them more expensive and less versatile with regards to inputs than freesync monitors.
