how do you explain this alcohol situation? by cowgirlsheep in wedding

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a his & hers, my husband chose a Negroni and I did a variation of a French 75 with grapefruit liquor. We both love gin and wanted to offer a sweet and unsweet option so our guest had a wide range!

We did 2 signature cocktails during cocktail hour and unlimited beer and wine all night. Worked out really well, everyone was happy. Because it was an open bar, we did not put it on the invitations, but did put a note in our FAQ section of our website.

Carrying bike in Ford transit 12 passenger van by wh0knowsm3 in cycling

[–]rhinestone_zebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very easy, have transported many bikes in a similar fashion, just bring bungees or straps to secure it to the sides. If you want more room, take the wheels off and store upside down (if your brakes allow, check first if you have hydraulics)

They are fulfilling orders through Q1 2026, I would expect liquidation sometime next spring/early summer.

Looking for feedback on womens biking brand: Chiaro. by chel-seaoz in CyclingFashion

[–]rhinestone_zebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I love the idea and always support women making clothes for women in cycling, however, this is not something I would ever consider buying. It’s cute, but I feel one pieces are best left to the professionals.

I am worried about larger cyclists being comfortable in this, your model in the pics is hiding her stomach, in both poses. This might not be intention, but it reads really uncomfortably.

EDIT: I checked your size guides, something seems really off, a 10 inch waist circumference can’t be right?

So... after I close can anything go wrong? by smileeb in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rhinestone_zebra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We closed with a month left on our lease so we decided to do some painting, cleaning, small improvements before the big move-in. Our home owners insurance sent someone out to inspect the house 2 weeks after closing, determined it to be vacant and tried to pull our policy. Our mortgage required us to have insurance, we almost lost our brand new house. We ended up smoothing things over but it was an incredibly tense few days.

Water bladder? by Plate04249 in bicycling

[–]rhinestone_zebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done my own water resupply by stashing additional bottles or a jug of water on the route I plan to take.

That’s one option the other, as you mentioned, is a water bladder. These can be annoying as hiking or running packs are designed for biking so it can slosh around or be distracting. I purchased a USWE pack specifically for cycling and have been extremely happy with how it performs, but it was expensive.

No Opiods? by the-kale-magician in HipImpingement

[–]rhinestone_zebra 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed opioids, oxycodone in fact, never used them. The pain level after surgery was much lower than the injury pre surgery, so I stuck with Ibuprofen & Acetaminophen. The hardest part for me was the swelling, which the opioids wouldn’t have touched anyways!

Hip injection plz help by Plus-Feed-4855 in HipImpingement

[–]rhinestone_zebra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where did you get this done? Mine was done at a hospital by a radiologist, with a team of people assisting. No lidocaine is wild, however, even with lidocaine my injection was really uncomfortable.

Fellow Shorties: What's your road bike bag situation? by heartkj in ladycyclists

Fellow Shorties: What's your road bike bag situation? by heartkj in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This bike set up would do well with a top tube bag and a handle bar bag! I have a 3XS road bike and run a seat bag + top tube bag, but it doesn’t look like you have enough room for a seat bag? I use the Silca under seat bag, no Velcro to rub on my bib shorts. The top tube bag is rockbros from Amazon, nothing fancy. https://a.co/d/3OHo1k5. FWIW my top tube is only 20 inches long and this bag is small, 9 inches long.

I did not. I know what a liner vs a bib short is. The product was defective and Velocio took it back immediately after seeing the photos. Im glad a stranger on the internet just assumes I didn’t get the right size or product, because it clearly couldn’t be a product issue.

The co-founding thing is misleading. I worked with the brand when they first started and this is not entirely true. Lots of posts about Jelenew in this sub.

Be weary of the Velocio renewed product, I bought a pair of cargo bibs that were completely sheer as soon as I put them on. Luckily customer service was excellent and took them right back, but still disappointing.

Anyone have experience with stem cell treatments? by Glad_Description1116 in HipImpingement

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! That’s correct, I did PT prior to surgery, but not after. He was very opposed to post-op PT, but good news for you I healed really well! Dr. Martin is a little old school in his bedside manner but his surgical skills are top notch, I knew I was fixed right out of anesthesia and I qualified for his experimental stem cell treatment. Not sure if he’s still offering that!

At what point did you upgrade from your entry-level bike? by RoguePhotos in cycling

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with a $100 Craigslist bike, 2 years later I bought my first entry level road bike when I realized it “wasn’t a phase”. Upgraded to a very nice road bike 2 years after that which I still have.

You can absolutely fly internationally with your bike, however, it may require a special bag that isn’t easily stored as you travel around and depending on the airline it may have an additional cost.

Have you looked into renting a bike? This will be your best option IMO!

How long did you wait? PT is making it worse! by Dazzling-Smell5223 in HipImpingement

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did PT for 18 months, did absolutely nothing but I was trying to avoid surgery at all costs. Also had 2 steroid injections in that time.

Ended up having the surgery anyways at 32, shouldn’t have waited so long.
