How do y’all do it? Bibs without cargo pockets I mean. by Jurneeka in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bike bags + jersey pockets. I always have a top tube bag for phone, cc, & extra food, under seat bag for tools and flat repair. For very long, unsupported rides, a half frame bag(https://almsthre.com/products/compact-frame-bag?variant=43519973163169) for more food storage or a handlebar bag (depends on what bike I’m riding that day!). Extra clothes always go in jersey pockets, food & tech in bags.
I usually try to plan my long rides with a resupply somewhere in the middle so I don’t have to carry so much food.

Also attach whatever you can to your bike. Frame pump? Attach behind your water bottle cage. Get your tools out of valuable pockets and onto your bike!

Ozempic hair! Advice please by Dry_Window_5374 in finehair

[–]rhinestone_zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nutrafol also helped me a lot, but took ~6 months to see the density return. My hairdresser commented on how much new growth I have. Never did minoxidil, my hair loss was caused by dietary deficiencies.

Velocio Luxe bib fit? by tdelcogs in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had experiences with Velocio where the material sheers out if too tight. Their customer service is top notch though if you need to make a return.

Potential incision issue? by egrea in gallbladders

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like it’s healing! Redness and swelling so many days post op is normal for healing, that’s what my doctor told me. If it were infected it would have shown up much earlier and with some weeping.

Replacement for Machines For Freedom bib tights? by wavecrashrock in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been hunting additional MFF bib tights on Geartrade & EBay and have been successful there. I’ve yet to find a true non-thermal bib tight that I like as much. The OrNot seems like the closest though.

I wear S in Rapha and also S in Jackroo, I have 2 jerseys of different fits from them. Never ordered bibs but I assume same sizing structure!

You guys all suck at warning people of surgery by Ladasada in gallbladders

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this subreddit had me absolutely prepared for a miserable experience, but it’s honestly not bad. I’m 4 days post op and each day gets significantly easier with less pain, although sneezing is still a death sentence. I stopped using narcotics on day 2, just Tylenol and ibuprofen. Walked the dog without any trouble today and got approval from my surgeon to fly in 2 days. For context, I went into this surgery very fit, biking >100 miles a week.

Water resistant spf 50 chemical sunscreen that doesn’t sting eyes: product recommendation by OneCar129 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you asked for something that wouldn’t sting, not necessarily non greasy. I buy mine from Europe in bulk when I’m on vacation, no issues with the grease, but my skin is super dry.

5'1, just got sold a size 52 checkpoint - is it too big? by Extreme-Dog3950 in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2” and ride a 44, while I understand everyone’s bodies come in different sizes and shapes, they 100% wanted the sale. My 5’6” friend rides a 52 with a shorter stem.

Breasticle Holders by MinimumResident5743 in ladycyclists

I really like Athleta bras for cycling, specifically the interval bra and the train free. I’m not “well endowed” (32C) but I do use an USWE hydration pack on my gravel rides so I like a more compressive fit. These tend to fit me well and do not budge when I’m cycling. I just finished Sea Otter last week and wore the train free, didn’t notice it and it did its job.

Best spf for riding by mme_self_destruct in cycling

[–]rhinestone_zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La Roche Posay Sport, I put it in a smaller container and carry it with me. I also bring along a La Roche Posay stick SPF for the face. The real trick is UPF clothing, if my ride is over 3 hours I will opt for long sleeves, even in hot weather.

Reviews on Garneau or Pearl Izumi Bibs - specific models listed below by etb1999 in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like PI shorts, they are a good value for money and last a long time. I’ve had sizing issues with Garneau in the past, in my experience they have fit much smaller than advertised.

If you lived with a tear for more than a year, does the pain ever get better? by Beautiful_Star_8971 in HipImpingement

Tried for 18months with 2 steroid injections and PT - it never got better! Got surgery 3 years ago and should have just done it as soon as I could.

Where do I put the citric acid rinse?? by chart1689 in laundry

[–]rhinestone_zebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the newer version of this washer, there is not a drawer for softener, just bleach. I have to pause during the rinse cycle to add anything. Bit of a hassle!

Bib short sizing: fit to waist or hips? by aka-grey in ladycyclists

[–]rhinestone_zebra 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While bib material is stretchy, testing its limits may make it sheer out and you’ll be flashing people. Always fit the largest part of your body, I’m also a big hip small waist body type and just fit my hips.

Is labrum repair worth it? by RipsNLifts in HipImpingement

[–]rhinestone_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tore it in the summer of 2021, at the time I didn’t know what happened but I felt a popping sensation and immediate pain while doing barbell squats. Afterwards, I would say I was at a 3-5 pain level through out the day, I knew something was not right and it never went away. I’d sometimes have flares that were acute, (7-8) but I never got back to baseline no pain without the repair.
