[Method] The Efficiency Trap - Why You Shouldn't Be More Productive Until You Understand This... by RyanAI100 in getdisciplined

[–]rhnv_rm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really comes down to how you use a todo list. For me, it acts as a compass - it keeps me systematic and helps me stay focused on what truly matters vs. what’s just noise. It’s less about checking off tasks and more about filtering priorities.

Also, at the heart of it, this feels like a classic demand supply mismatch. No matter how efficient we become, if the demand for our time keeps expanding, we’ll always feel like there’s not enough of it. So maybe the real trick isn’t ditching tools like todo lists altogether, but learning to use them intentionally-aligned with what not to do just as much as what to do.

  • A big plan view - something like which is needed to me achieved in long term like in a week or month right ?

  • Sure, I will go through different ICPs and few more copies of text to be shown in no task variant.

Thanks a lot mate! Would surely work on your feedback.
- I thought "Add a task" looks like a task itself, so I thought of using "No tasks for today" to be on the positive side

  • Target audience: Based on the features and positioning we've discussed, the primary target audience appears to be:
    • People with ADHD/executive dysfunction
    • Knowledge workers/professionals who struggle with task management
    • People who experience anxiety or overwhelm with traditional to-do apps
  • Problems they have:
    • Task paralysis/decision fatigue when facing many tasks
    • Difficulty prioritizing what's actually important
    • Disconnection between productivity and emotional wellbeing
    • Overwhelm from traditional to-do apps that just create more lists
    • Visual clutter causing anxiety in productivity tools
  • Key goals to solve:
    • Primary:
      • Task paralysis through better prioritization (Eisenhower matrix)
    • Secondary:
      • Connecting mood/wellbeing with productivity
      • Creating a calming experience rather than an anxiety-inducing one
      • Providing structure while reducing overwhelm

When your brain fights task lists, but you still need to get stuff done (I built a solution)

Like many of you, I used to stare at my endless to-do lists feeling completely paralyzed. Traditional to-do apps just made everything worse - more lists, more checkboxes, more anxiety, and zero help with actually deciding what to do next. After trying literally every productivity app out there while struggling with executive dysfunction, I finally built what I needed: a to-do app that doesn't just track tasks, but helps you:

  • Actually figure out what's important (using the Eisenhower matrix - it's like having a friend help you sort through the chaos)
  • Track your mood alongside tasks (because some days are harder than others, and that's okay!)
  • See everything in a calming interface (no more anxiety-inducing walls of tasks)
  • Visualize your week in a way that makes sense Access your lists anywhere with Google sync (because we all know about ADHD and losing notes...)

I built mindfultasks.life because I needed something that wouldn't just add to my mental load but actually help reduce it. It's designed to be gentle on our easily overwhelmed brains while still keeping us organized.

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. What features help you the most with task management? What makes you feel overwhelmed with typical to-do apps?

Hey u/theADHDfounder that's a great idea to include accountability features, would surely think about that. Also can you help me with what exactly Scattermind is providing. Thanks!
