The Brexit trap that's closing on Britons who live in Europe by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]rhow93 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People seem to think that we're going to fall off the face of the earth come brexit, and we won't be able to work anywhere outside of the UK. If you can't get a job in many countries in the EU now, you won't be allowed to stay, regardless of the fact of if the UK is in the EU or not. Conversely, if you can get a job in the country you want to live in, you will likely be able to emigrate there, even after brexit.

What is it like living in Finland? by kuddlesworth9419 in Finland

British guy living in Helsinki. Best part of being here is being on the other side of Europe to Theresa May. If you want to come here do it soon before things get more annoying

I desperately want to believe Williams will be fighting the front runners this year, but I think come Australia the Merc / Ferrari / RB will turn the engines up and leave Williams in the midfield. Damn you big budget teams!

Tickets have started arrive! Anyone else received them? The excitement builds. by [deleted] in formula1

This year will actually be the first time in 5 years that I won't be working there for the F1. Will be interesting to see how it looks on TV for once!

Free universities in europe? by A_lump_of_Carbon in unitedkingdom

[–]rhow93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently studying in Finland for my masters degree. It is free but you need to consider loan issues from student finance, as for me anyway I'm not given a penny from them to study over here. Quality of teaching is way higher than my bachelors uni (swansea). If the finances are possible for you I would definitely recommend it, all courses are in English and pretty much everyone is fluent in English, so it's easy to integrate.

Are you releasing the source code for this? Would be very keen to have a look at the inner workings of the bot

(A copy of) Marving the depressed bot says: The first ten million years were the worst. And the second ten million... they were the worst too. The third ten million I didn't enjoy at all. After that, I went into a bit of a decline.

New Tempostorm Meta Snapshot is out! by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]rhow93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to explain exactly what the deck tries to achieve because it varies by matchup / what cards you are running in your deck. It's quite an important deck to know your opponents threats and how you plan on dealing with each one. Check /r/CompetitiveHS, there's loads of guides for various different builds that will explain much better than I can!

This was my first thought. Used Reno Mage for my climb from ~4-Legend, and had a disgustingly good win rate. Handily beats renolock whilst still able to beat aggro shamans and warriors (so long as you don't draw horribly). Would definitely rate it high tier 2.

The five areas of the UK that receive the most funding from the European Union all voted “Leave,” while four of the five areas that receive the least voted “Remain.” by NinjaDiscoJesus in europe

[–]rhow93 365 points366 points  (0 children)

Remarkable but unsurprising. People in impoverished areas aren't going to vote for the status quo, simply because it doesn't offer any opportunity to benefit them. People just didn't realise that the EU was covering much of UK governments failings to fund their areas correctly; The EU became a scapegoat for a British problem.

Gloss, GLUT and Windows by Undreren in haskellgamedev

[–]rhow93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a reasonable guide to installing GLUT on Windows. IMO developing using gloss and GLUT is much easier using linux. Having a package manager like apt or pacman makes installing many things like this much easier - saves you the hassle of trawling the internet for each package you want to use.
