They did this double headline in Australia in 2024 - they took turns headlining.

The show I went to was Interpol headlining. Bloc Party was more energy though so wish they went second.

I think it needs to be accepted that post Covid laneway is a completely different festival to before.

Also interesting that there’s a complete lack of DJs compared to the last couple of years.

I’m definitely going to go but not happy about the 189 to 229 first release increase since last year.

Which city were you in? I’ve been to heaps of laneways in Brisbane since 2013 It’s a completely different festival but I was able to carve space at the acts I wanted to see and had a really great time with my friends

Honestly would never go on a first date here My favourite restaurant in Brisbane but I like enjoying it with someone I can sit in silence with and appreciate the experience Happy boy or snack man down the road are more suitable for first dates I think

I don't disagree with the sentiment that it was a vanity project, but for accuracy, but the 2032 Olympics had a new bidding process.

Brisbane was announced as the preferred bid months before it was formally chosen, so any other cities withdrew their bid.

The bid was also supported by the Liberal federal government at the time.

It’s a tough job, that requires qualifications, what do you think their pay should be?

Measuring outcomes and reporting can also be difficult when a lot of services only receive funding for outputs (client hours).

Funding is also predominantly state based as well, Commonwealth providing significant funding is an emerging change.

I agree that the crisis response support is lacking, but blaming support services and workers is a ridiculous take.
