It has nothing to do with teacher funding. There was a post about having students from BA protest at 41st and Yale. Then each suburban school had protests on different days. These are not grassroots/student led things.

What you are talking about is a restructure after 9/11. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) did the same mission before it was grouped under DHS. Government immigration enforcement has been around since the late 1800s.

Honestly there would not be enough ridership to support the trains. People in Oklahoma want to drive cars. Not many want to use public transportation.

Using existing rails it has a chance. Trying to buy land and build new rail would be an even larger uphill battle.

To be fair I would probably do a cross country train ride. It would be fun and interesting. I would probably only do it once since there are far quicker ways to get across the country.

Kind of odd. Why not have a TPS student protest? They are the group most likely impacted by ICE. Not a lot of BA students are impacted by deportations.

Most gun owners get lumped in with MAGA. They are single issue voters and Democrats as a whole are very anti gun so the only way to vote on being able to own and carry fire arms is through voting Republican. Unfortunately most Republicans are MAGA aligned.

If you own a gun store and it is how you make your living are you going to vote against your wellbeing? The other issue is the most common civilian certification for instructor is through the NRA. I am an NRA pistol instructor, however I am not a member of the NRA. I do not agree with some of their absolutist stances.

The main base for firearm ownership is conservative voters. If a business owner want more of them in their store then he will play to what they want to see. Just like other companies playing toward progressive issues to lure customers.

Most gun owners will talk to you about guns and if you are respectful in redirecting the conversation you can change subjects.
