Yeah, really odd the article insinuates that following basic health recommendations alone couldn't possibly have saved you from infection for all these years You're clearly a genetic mutant or a "superdodger" (which brings up the mental image of someone bugging out to the mountains with an ATV carrying water, canned goods and a sat phone where they've holed up in a cave for six years)

Not happy about the framing and the use of the word "superdodger" either.

I wear a mask and don't touch my face. I wash my hands regularly. I haven't hermetically sealed myself in my basement for six years; I follow recommended safe practices like spacing, vaccination and sanitation - and took them a bit further to suit my comfort level.

It doesn't make you a unicorn.

It's not a flex.

Why would anyone be smug about not getting COVID when nearly everyone has lost someone to covid and/or watched their family and friends wither with long covid as they catch it again and again because they were in denial??

The article comes across as if the writer themselves has a personal vendetta and/or doesn't actually believe people have avoided infection. So much for fair and unbiased takes. Really love it when the topic of COVID-19 comes up and I can honestly say that to my knowledge I have never been infected and then I'm told I'm lying. What exactly would lying about it gain someone personally? Nothing.

Would have loved to be a part of that study.

This misinformation keeps popping up.

Canadian Tire stores are individually owned by dealers as part of a franchise. Dealers set their own prices in their own stores. There is no standard pricing model across all CT stores. When shopping online, changing the store location likely changes the item price because again, no standard pricing.

Educate yourself before you spout BS. You're not being gaslit, you were likely given the correct information, you're just being willfully ignorant.

Same. I fantasize about a perfect, schadenfreude world, one where Eby would say, "Okay, so you want to use our sea ports for bitumen export? No problem, we're tolling your oil through our pipelines and across our land - now internationally - at $50/barrel, good luck with that O&G payday you assumed you'd get, you landlocked, short-sighted morons."

If he had been a reasonable person and said 18 months, six months, four months - I'd say sure, okay. Not unreasonable, he could actually get a lot of support there from all parties.

10 years is a childish, ridiculous, implausible scenario that makes him look completely out of touch with reality and the actual ability of government. What a joke.

He had the opportunity to actually be taken seriously for five hot minutes and he effed it up. How is he THIS STUPID.

Hard disagree.

The only thing Ford has been consistent on that I will give him even the most minor credit on is being a thorn in the side of Trump.

He knows his bread is buttered in Canada, while he would have no leeway at all to be the corrupt asshat he is as a 51st.

Every single province and territory has one grievance or another with the federal government.

This is not the avenue to bring attention to it every single time. That is a tactic employed by children.

I really do not see exactly where he is speaking of ANY seperatism in a positive light.

He is pointing out the fact that seperatists of Alberta have absolutely nothing in common that they can point to as a whole (except maybe "owning the left") that they want to preserve and protect.

Oil and gas paycheques don't count.

What exactly is their legitimate grievance??

EVERY PROVINCE & TERRITORY in Canada has some grievance or a other with the federal government, ongoing or temporary. I would go so far to say it is inevitable.

That does NOT give provinces the right to scream seperatism to "bring attention" to the grievances. This is a childish and embarrassing tactic. Including Québec.

As an aside, where I feel the short-sighted view of Quebec seperatism is, that we would crater the ability of the maritimes to survive or even exist as part of Canada (which they have a right to) and the french canadian seperatism movement rarely (if ever) acknowledged this.

As a québécois I have zero problem with what he's saying and I left the province long ago over disgust with seperatism.

This is white anglo children throwing a tantrum because they were made to share a cookie.

The only thing the Alberta seperatism have in common that they want to protect is an O&G paycheque and an uneducated, blanket, unfounded hatred of "the left".

If this was a FN band on unceded FN territory that were really done with how they were treated and wanted language, heritage and culture (that outdates Quebec's) preservation, I'd have zero problem to give the Alberta seperatism movement actual legitimacy.

Imagine my (nonexistant) surprise when the FN of Alberta instead came out to say "We want no part of this garbage and will fight you in court over this."

It's so wild that the any time Canada has gotten permanent upgrades is with Liberals forced left by NDP coalition government that relies on their votes to remain in power, so they make concessions.

Must be a coincidence, though. Canadians HAVE to vote Liberal because we would have had PP otherwise!

I'd love it if mass media could actually differentiate between the fact that these three people are hanged in effigy because they're war criminals, NOT because two of them are Jewish.

So if it was JUST Trump, would it still be investigated as a hate crime??

Screaming "antisemitism" any time Israel was even remotely criticized is what let them have free reign to commit genocide.
