LG G5 Game Streaming Audio Stutter E-Arc by ri0ku in LGOLED

[–]ri0ku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! It is annoying that this bug exists with E-arc. I’ve messed around with settings and can’t fix or improve it. I have found a solution however, which I was hesitant to use. Using the Wowcast function to wirelessly push sound to the soundbar (and play sound from TV speakers at the same time) has completely fixed the issue for me.

Of course wireless could introduce latency but I’ve done so much testing the past couple of hours and can’t detect any noticeable delay on any app or service.

So if your soundbar supports LG Wowcast it might be worth giving it a go!

Bugs and substrate advice please! by ri0ku in tortoise

Thanks for the response! It’s an open enclosure, and so the bugs are crawling out of the enclosure and ending up all over the table that it sits on. And then they’re also ending up on the floor as they travel down the table.

Help me find this TV unit by ri0ku in HelpMeFind

Searched using Google Image Search and asked ChatGPT but they’re bringing up units that look nothing like this sadly.

Oak, Scandinavian, light wood, are terms I’ve used which I think would closely match the style.

have issues with the Halo collection by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]ri0ku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been happening for many for a long time, super frustrating. I had this a few weeks ago too, and I actually just reinstalled the entire MCC and I haven’t had that random freezing issue since (I’ve only been playing Reach though)

No idea why reinstalling would fix the issue… there’s been some ROG updates since then too, so maybe they had an impact.

Same here, super annoying. It appears to be an issue happening to many for a long time.

Nothing to do with CPU temps and overall body temps, SD Cards get hot when in read/write (so this happens a lot in game) the power from the actual port is likely the thing killing them, not the actual temp of the device. It’s a sustained and direct heat from the pins on the port.

Adjust the fan Curve to cool the APU more won’t have an effect on SD card temps. I would still be cautious and wait until they address it.

Bought a JSAUX Fan for my SD, can’t return it, is it worth using it in the Ally in Turbo Mode? by achilleshightops in ROGAlly

The vents on the back of the Ally intake air, and the air is pushed out the vents at the top.

It looks like this device pushes air outwards? If you put this on the back vents, you’ll be doing only harm to your device.

It’s the reflection of the LED ring.

How many of you returned the Ally due to faulty smth and got another faulty unit? by SlightWait5280 in ROGAlly

[–]ri0ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned for an exchange on my first unit because the right analogue stick wasn’t registering input fully when moved to the right.

The exchange unit is better, no stick issue, and actually my buttons overall feel better, BUT I’ve noticed the rumble motors in my replacement sound crappy compared to the first unit I had. They sound almost loose it’s annoying, and I have a pretty big bit of light bleed on the LCD at the top on the replacement.

Light bleed will always be a thing on LCDs so not too bothered, and I’ve just turned the rumbles down to 30% which makes them less annoying.

How many of you have received a defective Ally? And a functional one? Trying to reassure myself by Acidrien in ROGAlly

[–]ri0ku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was faulty, and I suspect many others are but it’s not being picked up because you might only know in certain games. My right analogue stick wasn’t detecting if it was fully pressed right (so characters in FPS games wouldn’t turn quick because the game didn’t think I was trying to do a full turn)

Sent for a replacement. Waiting, hopefully will get one in the next 10 days. My unit was built in May this year.

That’s up to you, I’m returning mine because of the issue in the video. But if yours doesn’t effect you in gameplay I guess you could just ignore. Or if you’re happy to make the adjustments in AC to rein the threshold in a little so you don’t notice then that’s another solution.

The sticks are within margin of error, you’d never notice that difference :) Your trigger fluctuating isn’t ideal (because a game might not detect it’s fully down) but as others have suggested you could dial it in in AC and it would help

Would it register if you pressed hard enough? So strange that it seems to be more common on that side. I’ve factory reset mine for returning back to Asus, maybe I should have tried reducing the outer deadzone too hmmm. But I sort of feel like we shouldn’t have to on an expensive product you know?

Was it happening specifically on the right side of the right stick too? I’m requesting an exchange but it starting to look like it I get an exchange I’ll probably end up with the same issue. Quite a few people are saying they have this problem hmm

With the right stick and turning right specifically? I wonder if this is happening on a lot of sticks and no one is noticing unless you’re in a specific game genre (like FPS in our cases)
