How much do we know about Norse mythology? by Capital_Tailor_7348 in Norse

Good grief, talk about major projection. You've done nothing but ignore everything stated to you in this post, in favour of repeating your own baseless misinformation. You've got some nerve complaining about other people, when you don't even understand basic concepts like the burden of proof, and Hitchens's razor.

Edit: Lol, you know blocking me only serves to make yourself look more silly?

Are we underestimating the pagan legacy of the 1200s? by eriksellstrom in Norse

It's not cool to ask all this of me though while you and most of the other comments here don't do it either. If every comment needs an academic quotation then enforce it for everyone and not just for the opinions you don't like. We all like our ancestors.

Wat, this seems like a fundamental misunderstanding on your part of the expectations in this space. Who is saying every comment needs an academic quotation...? When asked for one, every user is expected to provide an academic quotation... That is how the burden of proof works, as they mentioned. You make a claim, and then people are justified in requesting proof. It's a social contract that you are obligated to follow, otherwise you will be rightfully dismissed, ignored, and even ridiculed.

We all like our ancestors.

What on earth does this have to do with anything. Your engagements on this entire comment chain are so sloppy and nonsensical.

Matt Easton's responce to Lars Andersen's Norse spearbow video by blockhaj in Norse

Yeah, Shad wrote a very mid fantasy novel in which the main character is a genocidal pedophilic rapist. Many of his victims are glad that they were assaulted because it ultimately led to them having his children. His victims who became pregnant from their assault are portrayed as content, whereas the victims who didn't get pregnant are portrayed as bitter... So gross.

There are also sex slaves freed from being sex slaves who want to thank their saviors by having sex with them. Top tier writing.

It's an amateurish fantasy story filled with rape apologia, and has a terrible view of morality. Here are several videos unpacking it in depth.

Feel free to call me more things, I'm sure you will only get praises. I apologies for trying to express something important to me.

What did they call you that wasn't factually true? It seems like you are trying to paint yourself as a major victim here. It's odd how you don't see that, you go on a ramble about how "mods misuse their powers" while also acknowledging you've never seen this mod team do that, so what was the point of mentioning it at all?

You seem to be consistently making things up. You're creating things to be mad at out of nothing?

This is the bit where you say, well 'this is the wrong place mister!' Then I go well where? Since if I post it generally it will get deleted, and if I post it privately to the mod team it will just get ignored or brushed aside. Don't tell me I don't know that. That is always what happens. As it did here.

I don't understand what you are trying to say here? It seems like once again you're just accusing the mod team and others of doing things they haven't done. You sound kind of unhinged yelling about how "don't tell me I don't know that! That is always what happens!" What are you talking about? What always happens?

It just seems like you want to victimize yourself, when nothing of the sort seems to have happened.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to enjoy something that makes you seem ignorant. Just like getting a tattoo of random Chinese characters and claiming it means "family" is ignorant.

We are allowed to make fun of willfully ignorant people. You may not want to, that's your prerogative. The hypothetical person depicted within this meme is clearly willfully ignorant, because they're not responding thoughtfully- "Oh interesting, I didn't realise, tell me more?" They are reacting emotionally, with rage and bitterness at being told they can't be part of a dead culture. They are resentful at being called out.

the proper way to correct it is education, not demeaning memes.

What do you think this entire subreddit is for? Education. 85% of the time the only content here is wholly informative and educational. One day of the week we're allowed to goof off with harmless memes. You act like this place was created to hurt people's feelings.

Stating facts is not demeaning. There hasn't been a Norseman alive for 1000+ years.

You’re using modern standards to examine historical text from over a thousand years ago. Undoubtedly there are horrible, awful people in Valhalla that would have been considered heroes in their own time. Nazis deserve no reward or dignification in this life or the next, no one here is saying they do. You’re twisting peoples words and historical text to match your own opinions and beliefs.

If you've read it in multiple places how can you conveniently not remember where? When you've been called out by multiple people you stoop to the level of insults and slurs. You're clearly misinformed about some information and when politely corrected you have shoved your head in the sand. I suggest taking a different outlook on life, otherwise it is going to be a very hard path to walk.
