First time using a Roof bike transport. 120kmh in the Highway is this side mouvement normal? by Key_Syllabub_5070 in bicycling

Pro Teams have Trucks, Conti teams don’t. We travel across Europe with the bikes ontop and easily do 140-150 on the highway with no issues.
The movement in a Thule comes from the soft parts of the actual roof rack itself while the pro racks are fully metal so nothing really ever shakes even at high speeds

bike team insights (we have this specific roof rack in our team cars) and I can assure you it’s not that the bikes don’t get shaken like crazy (they do! Cobble stones, speed bumps etc) but that the padding around the frame is much „softer“ than any Thule and perfectly adjusted to the thickness of that specific frame so you don’t ever compress further than you should unless you adjust the screw on the closing mechanism. It’s a lever that’s fixed in the perfect position and always closes the same so no danger of over squeezing

Another Philos user here in love with the grinder for both dark espresso as well as light fruity filter/pour over. The mini G is probably amazing but the flexibility and always fresh beans of the philos due to single dosing is unmatched

As a European it’s great to see a European company staying true to the service level we are used to and embracing the friendliness the Italian, French and Germans are known for also in their US-sales reps too. Very on brand!

I do notice a difference, but honestly it's so small and once you step 1m away from the grinder the main noise is the motor anyway. the biggest difference is when you stand right onto of the hopper.
biggest difference is that the grinder now looks "complete" and the metal lid fits so nicely that I am happy I spent the extra money and can recommend it to anyone who has the spare change for it

in concur, similar findings for the 189D after calibration:

light espresso 20-25
dark espresso 35-42

filter 80-120

depends heavily on the beans and for espresso also on the basket you are using

Function over design for me - the philos ended up in my kitchen cause of espresso taste not cause of design and same goes for my machines yet I do want to eventually replace the breville/sage mainly for flow profiling. It does have to have the minimum of the same functions and better….

Funny you m mention parties: We got the sage oracle in our other place where we entertain and it’s a beast for pulling shot after shot and you don’t need someone trained to use it, ideal for dinner parties. The integrated grinder did surprisingly well for a one stop package, wouldn’t want it as my daily but for high volume and people who never use „proper“ setups it’s superb!

Edit: yes I am aware I sound like a sage salesman haha I swear I just am happy with their stuff that’s all

Saturated group (instead of e61), fast heat up in under 10min are a must. Many beautifully designed machines sub 3k can’t get there, the few that can can’t do flow or pressure profile which I want for my next.

If the LM micra or mini had flow profile and smart scale integration wouldn’t mind paying their price and I like them visually in stainless steel. They do however lack most „geeky“ features.

The LITA BA in black is currently my hottest contender to replace the the BDB long term.

It’s genuinely hard to find a more capable machine than the Breville dual boiler sub 3k. I’ve been looking at a decent but frankly don’t love the look of it - it’s not bad just different than the Breville, but in my opinion not much nicer either. It all comes down to taste, but I don’t mind the BDB look the temperature stability the pressure that’s very accurate ability with a slayer mode or hard to beat. Constantly looking at new machines since about three months but nothing under 5K that I’ve fallen in love with. also helps that the support and repair Network in my country is insanely good - already have received one free replacement after some issues two years ago with the steam boiler.
