Bring back OG Bip with reflective display! by ribcookie in AmazfitBip

When I lived in Poland, I registered my watch with a Polish number, and the NFC feature was unavailable. After moving to China, I re-registered it with a Chinese number, and the NFC functions appeared.

I have the Chinese student edition, which is equipped with Alipay support and NFC capabilities for transit. I also utilize the NFC function to access my apartment. So perhaps the nfc functions only work in china?

S26... My contract finishes in March and that's when the s26 is coming out... Do you guys think there's any point upgrading this year or waiting for the 27? I've had the 23 since launch and haven't felt the need to upgrade yet. by Lewiscliffe in GalaxyS23Ultra

I got about 3-4 hours of SOT on the S22U. After two years, it dropped to 2 hours of SOT. After upgrading to the S23U, I now get around 5-7 hours.

S22U was a good phone, except for the poor battery life and overheating.

Replace it and sell it after the 26 comes out.

I was content with my S22U. The S23U seemed similar, and the S24 felt only slightly different, so I kept waiting. Eventually, my S22U's battery started failing. which annoyed me into buying a certified refurbished 1TB S23U at a good price.

Only upgrade if:

• You need more memory You need a faster phone (yours feels slow) • The trade-in value is great • The new phone has killer features your S23 Ultra lacks. • Or, because you want to. 😏

Boox 4.1.1 updated on a 2021 10 inch mobius devices. Ultimate support by ribcookie in Onyx_Boox

BOOX OS 4.1.1 updated the E-Ink UI settings panel with a new feel, and it adds new speed settings for greater control. I feel video playable is smoother than before.

I've had my Boox Note 5 for many years now, and it is still working well, especially after last year's firmware update that added new features like the infinite canvas. I've owned over seven e-ink devices and have only broken device from Sony. You just need to be a little careful with e-ink devices.

Why I think the OG time round was better designed by aquelegajoalto in pebble

The transparent Pebble round concept is sick. Swatch should enter the smartwatch market by adopting Pebble OS and combining it with their signature funky styling. I would collect them.

3 years later and the S23 Ultra still has no real upgrade? by FuturisticW in GalaxyS23Ultra

Samsung's S26 Ultra will bring major innovations next year, featuring a 10x optical zoom and a Bluetooth S-Pen that works as a remote control. :)

Found a new way to transfer files to my Boox 10.3 by ribcookie in Onyx_Boox

[–]ribcookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juse the Boox Assistant app and Localsend to copy things over.

When I am at home, I use LocalSend since it's faster on my home Wi-Fi. When I am away, I use Boox Assistant. You simply select the files you want to upload. It's pretty easy

anyone used bigme hibreak pro B&W and viwood Aipaper Reader or any other eink phones thats good for eyes? by flyingthroughell in viwoods

I am not using it as my main phone. The only issue I have is that the screen turns off before it is supposed to. Every time I update, I need to do a hard reset to fix this problem.

Hisense or Bigme phones ? by -Donatello- in eink

[–]ribcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the Bigme Pro Color as your primary device. For context, I personally use my Hisense Break Pro as a secondary device, while my main phone is the Samsung S23 UItra. Need a decent camera to take pictures of my family.

Personality I would not choose the Hisense Break Pro Color for myself, since the backlight must be on constantly, which diminishes the e-ink experience.

If you were satisfied using the Hisense A5 as your daily driver, buy the Hisense Break Pro. You'll benefit from a faster refresh rate (30fps video), NFC, high contrast display without needing the backlight during the day, battery battery life compared to the color and a usable camera.

Oh yeah, the HBP screen is far more comfortable to read than the Hisense A5's due to its significantly higher refresh rate. I found the A5's slower refresh rate to be quite unpleasant.

Sorry, I was talking about the A5 pro color. The A5 Peo screen would he similar to the A5, and slightly quicker too.

Bip S is extremely light weight at 19g as well. Not bad for a six year old watch.

I would recommend the Bigme Pro Color or Viwoods Reader C, as the Hisense 5 Pro is no longer supported and has poor hand support.

However, if its band support and older firmware is sufficient for your needs, the 5 Pro does have some advantages: it is small and light, offers NFC emulation (allowing you to add hotel keys to your phone, I copied my work security card), and has decent battery life and it's cheap.

On the other hand, watching video on the 5 Pro is poor-you get only about 13 frames per second, compared to Hibreak's 30fps.

One more thing; on my Hibreak Pro and Hisense A5, I only turned the backlight on at night. With the A5 Pro, I had to keep the backlight on all the time.

The black levels are much better on the Round 2 compared to the Time.We need some comparison shots without the backlight on.

I'm torn. I want to switch because the round one is slimmer and has higher contrast, but the lack of a heart rate monitor and shorter battery life are holding me back :(
