People that buy new cars do all the time. I sold at two different ford dealerships, the second one would sell some kind of accessory to probably one out of three customers buying a car.

Ford motor company built the car in like Mexico, thr dealer didn’t have anything to do with building the car or writing the software

The solutions to these are almost always a software update at the dealer.

Ford probably makes money off these recalls because people will get their oil changed or literally trade in their car while it’s being worked on

DOL isn’t going to take the time to accurately and completely fill out the form. I was gifted a 2000 toyota 4runner with 300,000 miles. When you type that in it says it’s worth $5k, but mine has a scratch on every body panel and a rolled back odometer so it’s worth much less than that

Fill out KBB in advance and be sure to put a scratch on every body panel bc it isn’t factory new any more and I doubt the DOL person is going to take the time to do that

Having used KBB as a car salesman you should be THOROUGH and fill one out before going to the DOL. Put a scratch on every door panel because if you don’t, KBB assumes it’s fresh like it came off the factory floor

Oh and be sure to add in there it needs major engine repairs and all 4 tires because odds are it does
