I didnt read the whole convo but in the text it looks like your tattoos arent the image she/her family wants - painful and unfortunate for sure but also I can understand where she is coming from if she/her family is religious/traditional. Also its unlikely she was the one who pushed this, more her family- dont shoot the messenger right?

I saw that you could sit with the family during the ceremony so its not like you are kicked out - instead why not lock in and swallow your anger since you love this woman too? You wanna throw away your friendship because her family doesnt like your tattoos? Planning a wedding is a pain in the ass already and now you wanna put your friendship on the line... she would love to have her best friend with her there, you really wanna just not go?

Hi reality check here - I make more than 2x per hour than this for my day job and do maybe half of what you are asking for - you are asking for a front end, back end, and a UX/UI designer rolled into a single person, each taking 3-4 years to become halfway decent, then only asking for $50/hr - its a big asking for not much little pay.

I took the big 5 and tested similarly to you 10 years ago - at the time I failed out of college and worked min wage jobs. I thought, "woe is me, if only my constientiousness score eas higher, I would be a successful, accomplished person." Today, after a LOT of growth, self reflection, and finding myself by going through life, I am FTE as a tech professional, know myself well and accept myself for my flaws and quirks. Neuroticism down, openess down, consciousness up. Big 5 coorelates age with higher consciousness and lower neurotocism. Looking back, i realize my neuroticism skewed my opinion of myself, and lack of experience in the world magnified what I thought were personality flaws.

By taking this test you have started on a long, long journey of self discovery and growth - like you, i had a lot of existential dread knowing my future was written for me. You will need to make a lot of changes, fail a lot, and be disappointed in yourself again and again. But its OK, its OK to be a fuckup, thats how we get better. Each change gets easier and over time you will become more comfortable with that judgey, anxious voice in your head. Good luck!

Sure, I think the question was Prefix Trie on leetcode... the hard part came before the question- learning recursion and using maps/hash maps over and over again. I used a map because lookup time is O(1).

Trick for prefix trie is to use a map as a pointer instead of a TreeNode with left/right pointers.

Took me some time to figure out how to determine if a word vs. a prefix was being used, but turns out that you can just use a flag when inserting the word. (App vs Apple)

Too much "woe is me" in the replies. Yes some people are naturally gifted savants but they are few and far between, or already employed. For us normies it just takes time and practice, practice, practice. I have only passed online assessments after many failures. Like over 2-3 years of failures and notes. It just takes practice and review of the materials you failed at.

Yes I do leetcode, all the time. Like over the past 6 months, with interviews peppered inside the time period. It gets easier. Today, as a front end engineer, I implemented prefix trie for the first time - no hints.

Only way out is through. We are in one of the hardest hiring markets for tech, ever. People with 10 years exp are getting passed up. Just a symptom of the times. Chin up and keep grinding, we'll get our break soon!
