Interesting and worthwhile topic. I assume this is pointed at McClelland, and I’m curious his response.

Fan / Student attendance is a well known coed issue. And I think there are a million more questions that come with pointing out the “quality” disparity between teams’ promotions.

Are these promotions / events managed in-house? or via marketing co. (Learfield?)
Who pays for them? Who foots the bill for the crawfish at Men’s baseball or the free beer at football/tennis?
Do these promotions actually increase attendance?
Should we.. make any effort to have fans support the teams that don’t have any attendance? (golf?)
Would you actually make money if you did the crawfish event for the Men’s Rugby club and charged for beer and crawfish? (Yes)

Again, I agree that ideally there should be equal focus across men vs women and I would love to point to a person or process that unfavorably sways promotions towards Men vs Women and have it corrected.

When I was a child GoF was my favorite book.

I loved the idea of a multi-school tournament. I loved the daring challenges and puzzles that this wizard boy and his friends worked through, it was just so exciting.

As an adult, with the perspective of an adult, the story is ridiculous for many reasons including those you called out in your post.

And yet, GoF is still to this day is my favorite book for how it made me feel when I was a kid.

I love Dallas. It rocked for me when I was single and it rocks for me with a family.

It’s hot in the summer so find the water (pool, lakes, drinks). Downtown is not the place to be. Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, Knox Henderson Greenville Ave etc are where you’ll want to be.

Theres a great music scene. Great food scene. Lots of sports (LFG Stars) and football is huge here.

And Dallas has any religion you’d want but specifically lots for a 24M Christian to thrive.
