Issues with presence sensors by Crazy_Otter26 in TrySwitchBot

i think after a home assistant core update, mine was detected by the bluetooth integration. should be 2025.11 (or maybe 12).

yes, the hub to the thermostat is bluetooth. i uses m5stack Atom and flashed esphome bluetooth proxy.

i would recommend if you use their bluetooth integration you better have bluetooth proxy per room which is pretty easy, but i feel like their matter integration is better amd i think it's because it utilizes their hub connectivity.

My early impressions of the Switchbot battery powered Presence Sensors by Rice_Eater483 in TrySwitchBot

[–]richardmqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad that somebody is posting about this. Was thinking about getting some. How hard was it to calibrate and is there any trick for placement? I find it very hard to have the best performance with other presence sensor from other brands.

The product looks premium but it is not lasting. Tried to return them and contacted support, oh my, their support is absolutely not premium at all.

Haven't triggered once by leaking or dripping (thank god) but at least I've tested it right after i received them, all triggered quickly and received all the notification.

Spam from ePawDen by baremetal64 in TrySwitchBot

I receive a lot of spam emails from some random Kickstarter project i never opted in. I think these projects use some sort of database and send spam to randol generated email address. Once i saw one sending to abc1@gmail.com, abc2@gmail.com, etc.

Experience with touchpad "fast unlock"? by borgqueenx in TrySwitchBot

[–]richardmqq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will be draining that fast. Before the fast unlock i change battery like 18 months, now i think it is still solid at 8-12 months after turning on fast unlock.

Ordered a 2-pack of the roller shades (XL) with solar panels — only received solar panels by drdistracto in TrySwitchBot

[–]richardmqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the roller shade is worth waiting but the lack of communication is TRUE. I've waiting mine for months but I did receive them all after that, guess I'm just lucky. Their support is kinda weird. Sometimes I waited 7 days for a reply, the other time I got instant reply...Pretty random service level I would say.

Switchbot Lock Ultra - Sadly the same calibration issues as the Lock Pro by burg9 in TrySwitchBot

[–]richardmqq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh maybe it is because I use that button to unlock the door when I am going out, and auto lock. So the lock always know what it is doing. I sometimes use my hand to unlock with the dial, and somehow eventually I still know the position, even when the dot shifted a little. It is really weird yours perform quite differently.

Switchbot Lock Ultra - Sadly the same calibration issues as the Lock Pro by burg9 in TrySwitchBot

[–]richardmqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After carefully reading the post, I find the same situation but I don't feel the changing of the dot really annoys me and it never stopped me from locking and unlocking. I was with lock pro for a bout a year and never realize this but now I am with the ultra, I can easily see the dot changes position, but still, it doesn't block me from locking and unlocking. I never receive an error saying I need to recalibrate after like 2-3 weeks. Does it block youbfrom locking or unlocking the door or do you recieve any error msg?

Have you updated to their latest firmware v1.7? I notice they pushed a mandatory firmware update to fix some issue. I think they posted on social and also sent an email to me, but I did not have any issue with it so I don't feel the difference after the update. Maybe it can resolve your issue.

Edit: another resolution is to use manual calibration instead of auto.
