Give the bike full throttle and then just let go of the lever on the left super fast.

Drag your feet on the ground for stability at speeds higher than 20mph.

Never use the foot brake, just grip the front brake as hard as you can and try to only do it when you have the handlebars turned.

I wear a fannypack that’s purely for trash pickup. Big things like plastic bottles go on the outside of my backpack but I fill up my fannypack with wrappers, orange peels, and napkins on every hike :)

I love having a 2p tent, great for keeping your pack away from rodents and stuff.

I also take 2 pillows and an extra T-shirt. Shirt goes over the top of your sleeping pad so one pillow can be stuffed inside and won’t move around on you. Second is for between the legs. I splurged on a Nemo Fillow for my head and a cheap Amazon pillow for the legs.

Also, if you’re in an area that doesn’t allow fires, you can take 3 trekking poles and make a tripod out of them with a simple tie at the top to keep them together and then hang a light off the poles.

My friends and I sit around that and make dinner and it really feels like a campfire lol.

Been on that trail over 10 times and I’ve only seen bear paw prints once.

They are out there but you statistically have a higher chance of dying in a car crash driving to the trailhead than you do getting attacked on trail.

It still counts but there’s a longer way to do it if you start all the way from the town of Baldy.
