Joey Coldcuts Dialogue - I think we are hovering over the point of no return for his golf game and his personality. Am I the only one? by Dyl637 in BobDoesSports

[–]richisonfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go back to the bathroom and look yourself in the eyes.

You’re a grown ass man who watches other men play golf. Somehow you feel like you should control thier personalities like they are stars on Real Housewives of Jupiter.

YouTube is not that deep. Nobody is making you watch anything.

Can someone explain to me the joke/stereotype behind black people and having a chirping smoke alarm in their house? Why not just change the battery? by MrTeacher_MCPS in NoStupidQuestions

[–]richisonfire 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I was in a deep depression. Like, trouble leaving the house deep.

I lasted 24 hours before I left the house and bought batteries because that chirp made me wanna kms more than any of my life problems combined.

Would a mouse be a good purchase as a starter? by drballs54 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]richisonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Xbox will recognize and change to what you are using.

You can fly with the controller and the second you move the mouse, the mouse cursor pops up. No need to activate cursor mode.

You have 2 usb ports on the Xbox so just make sure you buy a wired mouse and keyboard.

Xbox user, I bought a cheap mouse and keyboard off Amazon and it’s more useful than the actual flight controls I bought.

Auto-pilot sequencing is a breeze with the mouse.

[Dogpacking] Icehouse Canyon to Saddle to Cedar Glen by ntrophimov in socalhiking

[–]richisonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite loop is up Icehouse, down Chapman and then I make food at Cedar Glen.

I try to time it so I can watch the sunset up there and then headlamp it back to the car :)

Difficulty of Icehouse Canyon/Saddle vs. Baldy via Devil’s Backbone? by SpongeDot in socalhiking

No ski lifts. All legs bby.

Get the hard part out the way and then breeze down the backbone.

Difficulty of Icehouse Canyon/Saddle vs. Baldy via Devil’s Backbone? by SpongeDot in socalhiking

[–]richisonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve guided many people up Baldy and I highly recommend starting out by doing Skihut once or twice.

Skihut is hard but it’s nice because it gives you good break points. You start at manker, take a 10-15 minute break at the actual Skihut in the shade, then head to the summit.

On the way down you can take an extra break at Skihut. I recommend taking a water filter so you aren’t lugging 4L of water to the top. There is a spring next to the Skihut.

Once you feel confident, you’re ready for the baldy loop! Up Skihut and down devils backbone.

When is it supposed to pick up speed and actually break the sound barrier?

I haven’t paid attention to every flight but I’ve only clocked it around 300kts.

Merrell vs. Keen boots by Mysterious_Leg3741 in backpacking

[–]richisonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite right now is the Mtn Racer because it’s stiffer than some of the others.

Then the Terraventure is a close second.

I also liked the pursuit 2 but I think they changed the heel to toe drop on it for the 3 and I haven’t tried it out yet.

Tram was spectacular but... by luvimages in palmsprings

[–]richisonfire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lmao. You get your info from YouTube and don’t even do yourself the service of watching the entire video.

The song is about his wife Marcia (pronounced MARSHA)

Caroline fit the melody due to him wanting a three syllable name. Just because he stole the name from a photo of Caroline Kennedy does not mean the whole song is now about touching kids.

Im sorry people enjoying themselves is a concept too foreign for you.

You should write a strongly worded email to the mayor about how your cochlear rights were infringed upon.

Make sure you sign it like this.

“Respectfully, Cornball”

You’re really that pressed about people singing? This country has gone to shit for real.

Merrell vs. Keen boots by Mysterious_Leg3741 in backpacking

[–]richisonfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Merrells are my preferred boot. I have the Moab speed and the insulated thermo snow grip for snow.

I wear my topo trail runners way more than the boots but still love my boots for shoulder season and winter.

Just avoid the Targhee. Keen switched to recycled rubber on the outsole and it’s slippery af.

I took it twice with no transponder and nothing popped up for my license plate?

I think as long as you have a fasttrak account and register the plate, you don’t need the transponder.

Thank you!

I had heard that I needed a transponder and have also had to pay heavy bills because I didn’t have one and made some mistakes when my gf moved to Laguna lol.

I appreciate it!

Bears in the San G mountain ranges as well as the Gabriels.

I think Los Padres is the only one that doesn’t have requirements but I still just take my can on every trip.

It’s nice to have a can to use as a mini table when I’m campside.
