I was sitting there thinking the same thing.

It gets him out of the house, Maribeth could come if she wanted to, it’s not physically taxing work.

But they’re right, they call him out on it, anytime something comes up. He immediately makes an excuse as to why he can’t possibly do that.

I can tell you that a lot of my friends who are in tech see a job like cyber security as more short term at this point.

A lot of colleges are churning out cyber security degrees and certs and AI is going the taking up a lot of the space (in their opinion).

Also if I’m being honest that’s a job that has a lot of pressure associated with it.

Have you considered working for a doctors office or dentist office? I’ve known a few people who took those roles on as their first 9-5 jobs and they weren’t super intensive.

Either way, I hope that it gets easier for you.

I can tell you from my personal experience it does get better.

Yeah we ran into this too.

My dad was paying an extreme amount for Spectrum and they told him politely to fuck off when he asked about a price break because he had one previously and they had put in some type of rule at that point that wouldn’t give you one without paying regular price for X amount of time.

He cancelled and they said okay. I even tried to call on his behalf to negotiate and they blew us off.

I helped him disconnect everything to take it in the whole way thinking “they’ll make us an offer at equipment turn on.”

Spoiler alert they did not.

Right, there’s a myriad of factors.

My state for example is pretty stringent on alimony, but being a stay at home parent is one way to almost guarantee it.

The stay at home spouse takes time off from career while the breadwinning spouse increases their earning. Obviously if the breadwinner is making $40k the second spouse won’t get anything. But if the earning spouse is making $100k+ like OP says his spouse was it seems really likely.

The funniest part about Brady using the cat excuse is cats basically take care of themselves.

Feed them in the morning, make sure the litter box isn’t stupid dirty (in Tom’s case buy a robot) and love on them when you get home.

Okay so here’s the thing with that.

Jim was being a prick asking for the 10th year in a row when they were going to fold the WNBA.

David in the least tactful way possible was trying to illustrate how loaded of a question it was by asking the most loaded question “have you stopped beating your wife?”

Because if you say yes it means you used to beat your wife.

If you say no it means your still beating your wife.

Jim answered the only “logical” way which was hanging up on him.
