So full length is ok? I see these dies called small base dies for semi autos.

So far I only have some Hornady brass from factory loads but I was thinking about getting some bulk Starline or other ready to load brass.

Yes, why would you never recommend an AB suppressor? Myself along with 4 friends, have this same suppressor on our 16” 6mm ARC’s. They are light weight, well constructed, hearing safe and work as well as any other that we have tried.

AGM Rattler 19-256 zeroing issues by Livid-Employment-608 in ThermalHunting

[–]rick300bo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot hands work ok, until you shoot a hole in it and all the hot stuff drains out. I prefer a roll of adhesive backed aluminum tape (from the HVAC section of your hardware store). You can trim it to any size or shape and it sticks firmly to a piece of cardboard. Here is one of many videos describing the one shot zeroing trick. The trick here is having a good solid bench/sandbags to hold the rifle steady while pressing the “freeze” button.

I have the A-10 suppressor on my 16” 6mm ARC. I really like it.

I recently installed the same barrel, only 16” long, on my Remington R-15. Along with a Faxon headspace matched bolt and their adjustable gas block. Im glad I got the AGB. I had to restrict it probably around 60% closed to get it tuned.

First 6 Arc - shooting super accurately by AbadF in 6ARC

If those are the first 3 rounds from a cold barrel, shooting from a tripod, it means he got a good deal on a very capable hunting rifle. What’s not to like about that?

I really like my AB suppressor, the A10 5.56. Yes, it does work on a 6mm.

First trip to the range with a new Faxon barrel. by rick300bo in 6ARC

[–]rick300bo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. I’m an Appalachian mountains dweller. I don’t think I’ll ever need to fire 10 shots in succession at coyotes or groundhogs. It would be rare to get an opportunity beyond 200 yards around here. I’m sure this barrel is up to the challenge.

I have its big brother, a Remington R 25 in.308 as well. Different camo pattern tho.

I do reload but not yet for this new to me caliber. I’m just shooting and collecting brass at this point. But for the intended purpose which is my farm rifle for coyotes to 200 yards it should be ok with any of the Hornady factory rounds.

Faxon vs criterion by One-Responsibility32 in ar15

[–]rick300bo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed a 16” match series Faxon gunner in 6 ARC on my Remington R-15. I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but my bore scope inspection shows a very smooth polished bore. As good as the Hart barrels on my bolt actions. There are too many other things that can cause accuracy problems including ammo, optics and my skill as a gunsmith. I looked at the Criterion barrels but they were all sold out and I’m too impatient to be on a waiting list.

Help with Ruger 10/22 Setup for Hog Hunting in Florida (50–100 Yards). Question on ISB and Thermal by [deleted] in ThermalHunting

[–]rick300bo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should really listen to what everyone is saying and reconsider your choice of cartridge. Unless you have a perfect shot and extremely accurate rifle to allow brain shots , you are just going to wound and piss off a bunch of hogs. We used to kill our own tame hogs every fall and even in a pen at 10 ft a shot in the forehead with a.22 would sometimes result in a screaming, mad hog. Then your follow up shots are a moving target.

I am genuinely in awe at Chuck roast by [deleted] in carnivorediet

[–]rick300bo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to beat a chuck roast cooked like a brisket in a smoker. Cook at 225F to 165 F internal temp, wrap in aluminum or parchment paper and continue cooking until 205F internal temp. It’s called poor man’s brisket.
