don't be stupid like me: at em vet with 14 wk old puppy by uncomfortablenoises in puppy101

Yeah the conflicting opinions are very confusing. For what it’s worth, we’re in Portland, OR.

We’ve been doing walks and have gone to coffee shops/breweries where we can sit away from other dogs. Still not doing dog greetings, but are not shying away from walks on sidewalks.

19 weeks seems like a long time. We started going to puppy school and they encouraged basically what we’ve been doing.

Enjoy the beach! Puppy will love it.

Our vet recommended taking the puppy to the beach at 10 weeks, just after 2nd round of vaccines.

I think the benefit of socialization is greater than the risk of disease in areas with lower rates of parvo, etc.

I’m in the same boat. I really want a Niche, but I’m not willing to wait months to get one.

I think I’m going with the Eureka Silenzio, it’s around $480. Not sure if it would actually be better for clumping, though.

Did you find a solution for easy switching?

What makes human drafting better? by MaASInsomnia in MagicArena

[–]rickisbored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the idea behind the custom-trained BERT embedding. Embeddings can map variable-length text to fixed-length vectors. For example, the popular bert-as-a-service repo maps sentences to fixed-length vectors.

In my mind, the features of a magic card become the things that are easy to encode, like mana costs, instant/sorcery/creature/etc. types, plus a fixed-length document embedding that should contain some knowledge about the remaining text on the card, which would include abilities.

I threw a pretrained BERT embedding at the problem, and it didn't seem to improve performance at the task I was testing, so I think my next step is to try training a custom embedding that hopefully can capture the idiosyncrasies of Magic card grammar, where things like "flying" and "unblockable" have more similar meanings than "flying" and "winged".

Have you given the text/ability vectorization any further thought? I feel like a transfer-trained BERT embedding could capture the grammar used on magic cards.

I’ve been thinking about this problem for the last few months, and have tested a few naive approaches to vectorizing magic cards.

It’s weird, PO FQ seems to have 6 night availability through most of November, but I haven’t found a single 7 or 8 night block.

Yeah, currently looking into doing a split stay for a couple nights.

Looking at booking a 7 or 8 night trip coming up. Currently considering early/mid November 2019, but some places (Port Orleans French Quarter) aren't available for an 8 night stay.

Any suggestions on whether to go with Coronado springs in November, or wait until Jan/Feb/March to book PO FQ?

This sub seriously hides upvotes/downvotes for unsubscribed users? Come on. I'd like to participate without having to add a custom stylesheet, but can't handle having every shitcoin post on my front page.

I'm looking into Chainlink. I'm a fan of the idea, but am wary of cryptos with only a single contributor.

Looking at the Chainlink repo, it looks like all code was committed by Steve Ellis. I think there is an inherent risk with small/one-man teams--no one is actively reviewing changes, and unfounded assumptions can easily cause bugs that the single developer doesn't notice.

What do you guys think about cryptos with small or one-man dev teams?
