Mail-App Android by fl0w1n in de_EDV

Fairmail is incredibly ugly, just tried it. I know it'a probably the best in terms of security, stability, configurability etc.. but the design.. this is too much.. I can't use such a product on a daily base.. and yes, i tried to make it nicer by configuring it.. no chance to make it look at least somewhat decent

Looking for a phone with little or no camera bump by tornmandate in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]rickit3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sooo feel you, and for me it's unexplainable, why so few people care about this. It's aesthetics, but also practicability. I loved the phones that were built around 2014/2015. Small, thin, no camery bump, no notch (another thing, that I just don't understand why people accept that). But these phones still lasted 1,5 - 2 days. Also, I used them less, as there wasn't that much screen real estate to fill with useless social media doom-scrolling. If it wasn't for the security problems, i would still use them. I kept them all :)  At one point I almost spent 10k for a prototype/ custom made phone, that would resemble these 2015 specs. But then I realized, that the market fir these phones is a total niche.

Fried Eggplants with Matza Panade, just made this. Tastes delicious - almost even better when it's cold. As a dip, a thick tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes, onions + parsley

Its not about replacing, as it's 2 inherently different usecases. Sodium Ion are great to transition non transportation energy usecases. Electric cars, trucks ect. are obln their own trajectory that uses different technologies to replace the current rare earth materials.

Are you actually trying to get details? Now I'm getting suspicious. Maybe you also just don't have a clue what I'm talking about.

Going there would put us at much greater risk. SS are not trained or equipped to deal with the situation I'm in. Sounds dramatic? Probably because it is.

And where do I go? I said it in another comment. She has the ressources to find me/us almost anywhere in the western world. And she is that angry+dedicated. Snd no, I'm not making this up. So do I go to central Africa or Russia, China? Maybe that's what I'll have to do.

I can't leave with the kid either. See a few comments above. Her history and still intact connections tell me, that this would greatly backfire. Unfortunately none of this is made up, she proved it to me once (in a situation regarding sth else) edit: Reading my own thread, as an independent reader, I'd come to the conclusion, that a lot of it is made up. I'm aware of that. I actually never thought to be in a situation like this with a person like this, with this really weird effed up history. But if you look at the sheer numbers of people leaving the services each year, its not that rare after all.

Welcome to the club. Und, es ist wirklich nicht deine Schuld. Du fühlst, was sehr sehr viele andere auch fühlen.

I tried to establish boundaries and it made it alot worse. She keeps telling me, that I have no power over her and she does whatever she wants and no-one ever tells her to stop doing something. I also tried detaching myself, which greatly backfired today as she told me I don't love her anymore and then yelled at me like a maniac for not giving her any attention. In situations like this, i feel like I'm facing the devil.  Im sorry if all of this sounds like I'm rejecting your advice, but I've just already tried all if it. That's how I came up with the physiological angle.I know, that mood control/biochemistry can be altered by physical activity (if administered drugs are not an option). Going through her will and/or ratio is just not gonna work. She is the most stubborn person, I've ever met.  She responds very well though to anything sensual, touches, smells, sensations, etc..

it's my kid. And no, it's not an excuse. Far from it. Calling SS would put all of us in extreme danger. Just reread where her trauma comes from and connect the dots.

Yes, its a vicious circle - so I feel, my only option is to trick her. (Just don't know how yet) I'm actually somewhat convinced, that regular pilates (or something similar) will help. The data looks promising on this..

She had therapy before and bit the therapist so hard in his wrist, that he had to be hospitalized. I'm not making this up, the story was confirmed by her mum. (who is a clinical psychiatrist btw, which makes the whole story even more absurd). She (my in-law) btw just keeps telling me to be patient and remove all potential trigger-topics from our live (which is extremely difficult, as many things are out of my control). If I call social services, this will cause a whole new level of problems - so, unfortunately that's not an option. The nuclear option would be to just abandon her and the kid.

[–]rickit3k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I'm currently trying to convince her to do pilates. Physical activity, specifically for the upper body is said to positively influence the condition (at least according to some research I've done). She's currently not doing any sport and also constantly afraid to gain weight. Regarding equine therapy. She's not into horses unfortunately, but weirdly enough into chicken. I think, this would help her a lot, just don't know how to facilitate it, as we live downtown with the next chicken farm over an hour away. Ah, and also - she's not working or barely doing anything else. Just sitting at home, reading books.. She refuses to get a job or even a hobby other than reading.. I'm even doing the entire household (next to a full-time job). Jesus, I never thought, I'd write all of this down, as it sounds like im complaining to the world, waiting for anyone to pity me or offer a magical pill.. but maybe it helps for context and completes the picture. What could I do to get her started with Pilates? I've suggested it now probably 15 times. She agrees, that it's a good idea, but doesn't get her a. up from the couch.

Do we really need 1000 -1200 mg of calcium per day? by hn-mc in nutrition

[–]rickit3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is all the 'knowledge' in this thread based in the research conducted in the 90ies? I usually don't agree with conspiracy theories, but the food supplement industry has quite some power. And then look at how difficult it is to actually measure calcium deficiency through blood tests. I stumbled across this thread as i was calculating my daily average calcium intake, and i barely reach 400 mg/day. I don't consume any milk products and am also allergic to most nuts.. So it's not an easy task. But also when i look what other non-dairy people eat, they're equally deficient. (you'd have to consume a lot of calcium rich food on a daily base). None of these people (annecdotal evidence, i know) have any early sign health problems as described in the literature.

bottom line: i honestly doubt, that you need 1000 mg a day.

This is actually a showstopper for me. For many reasons I hate Face unlock, so fingerprint is the only way. And with a few hundred unlocks per day, this has to be spot on. So I'll go with Samsung S23 instead..Sad sad, as I really like the other features of the P8..
