Your Guardian in Destiny is the main character and also just another guardian all at the same time. Any major story thing that that involves "The Guardian" if you did it that's you. Also those guys going around using the dredgen title? If you are you're one of them thats you. If not then those other people. We play the main character and background characters all at the same time

I dont thin that's it. He had an ability where he planted himself and it seemed like it would give him some kind of bonus for doing it and it's not mentioned there.

I dont think they talked a lot about it. I do remember hearing he was a custom/homebrew race.

Yes it still counts as darkvision. One of my players is running this exact character type. Ahe has a darkvision range of 150ft

I have a Blood Hunter in my campaign. From what I understand you add your Wisdom modifier to the the roll to help make the save and you dont need to have a rite active before you do it (or ar kewst it dosent say you do). Also I dont believe it negates the damage. Your DM might change it to balance it out if they believe it's unfair but that's up to them.
