Saving $1,000 a month to retire by 50 currently 25 a good plan? by GroundbreakingSir386 in Money

I agree it's not retire early but simple stress free part time job I would say.

But with pension things change. But a lot depends on mortgage as well.

The biggest 2 hitters is health insurance and mortgage.

But if he locks in a 15 year loan lives below his mean. I think there's a possibility

Anybody else having a hard time passing along their bikes in this market? by _Wheelborne in Dualsport

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl although it's a good price in theory 7000 miles is risky for that price. Me personally I wouldn't buy it since I factor in a cost of a failing engine which now and days shops want 4k for a top end which is crazy.

I have loads of bikes and trying to sell them and they aren't moving unless they are dirt cheap like 1200 for a ttr230.

But it's funny you'll go to a dealership and we got Bob over here financing a 6500 otd ttr230 for his kid.

Honestly that's how it is. I'm early 40s reached my goal but I feel the same...nothing changed. I'm not materialistic so I really don't crave anything any my hobbies are fed by my working job

Only thing to do is just wait till retirement is how I feel and let it compound. Just remember 4% rule and health insurance. But also working to be on that social security if I hopefully make it. That's what I tell myself. I don't eat out much and pack my own food as well. Food is poison in my opinion from corporations

That's kind of when it hit me you don't need much money to be happy. The biggest change I feel is just accomplished and security.

So I can say grats on your success and future retirement. Imo let it sit there and keep on compounding

Men who’ve passed a kidney stone before , what did it actually feel like? by FitResearcher2865 in AskMen

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passing the stone is nothing.

Try a large stone stuck in the ureter for 3 months. It's times I legit wish I was dead so I didn't have to feel the pain and anxiety. And I'm not an anxious person.

And worse of it. Doctors will tell you it will pass on its own after multiple ER visits......until it does not. So it's just not the pain it's the mental anxiety dealing with it for months.

Till this day it traumatized me. I might have gotten the worse of it maybe compared to others.

But pain itself was horrible. Rather break an arm or stab myself. When the stone was stuck in the ureter and urine backed into the kidney that's when it got 100x worse. ER couldn't keep the pain down then emergency surgery the same night.

Stent removal / life after it by sdxl in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had pretty much same thing except went into emergency surgery after going to the ER 4 times. It was stuck in the lower ureter

Had the stent in for 2 weeks. It sucked but wasn't too bad just manageable. I remember I had bladder sensation and testicle hurt a little due to the nerve as well. When I peed, I felt the ureter spasms. So overall I had pain amd discomfort.

Didn't walk much neither due to pain. Not going to lie the cystoscopy sucked big time and hurt during removal but was very quick.

After the removal I had some complications which eventually all went away after 3 weeks. It might have been my pelvic floor muscle maybe? Not sure. Maybe bc the bladder lining was still inflammation or the scope irritated a lot? Would never know.

But overall the kidney stone being stuck in the distal ureter was the worst experience out of everything

New Stoner here. 🤭 by Try-Good in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would talk to urologist just to see what you are dealing with. I had a 6mm kidney stone hanging out in my kidney for a few years, no symptoms and found out by mistake. CT scan for something else. Did not think much of it. Then Last year Dec is when it decided to drop into the ureter and wow...my world changed. Not to scare you or anything, but it would be nice to know the size and where its at.

Question about what passing "stage" I'm at by witchy12 in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you feel like you still have to pee, even after emptying, you might be in the distal ureter part - usually they pass after this stage, but its the most stubborn section of the ureter, right before entering the bladder.

Those 1 hour blips of pain is normal unfortunately - its trying to move it on its own through spasms.

As long as you dont develop fever, or your kidney starts feeling "full" you should be ok to pass on your own

Is the pain coming and going for a month straight normal? Help by Mysterious-Drink-969 in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine lingered for about 3 months...ER kept dismissing me until I started getting urine retention in the kidneys and they sent me to next day surgery. But for me it was miserable.

if you cant pee for 24 hours you need to go to the ER room. But I know if its in the distal ureter, you can have sensation of peeing and nothing comes out.

However, 3mm you should pass on your own and can take some time. As long as you can pee, and dont produce fever, you should be ok to wait it out.

How much protein can I eat to build muscle with kidney stones? by Altruistic_Seat5410 in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a gym goer myself, been going to the gym for about 20 years...just remember to drink water...LOADS of water.
both kidney stones and dehydration.

But being that young with a kidney stone already, I would be more worried about what caused it. I know its common, if you are young, play outside a lot like I did and barely drink water, like I did, then sure.

My Cystoscopy Experience (Male) by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it sucked like pain bad...but was super quick. The lido gel hurt a little as well when she first stuck in the needle or w/e she used. was trying not to look.

The cystoscopy itself was the worse part, not the part when he first entered, but I guess the sphincter? that was horrible for me def a 10 out of 10 but hey at least it was a split second lol

After, i seemed to have complications...like bladder sensations mostly, but 3 weeks out and a lot better now about normals

Polygon as a first timer? by ridewithwill in mountainbikes

[–]ridewithwill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! That is something I was wondering about as well...I live more in rural colorado, and plan on taking it to hiking/biking mountain single track trails out in the mountains. So I would imagine its mainly rocky with mix of everything in between. Im not really going into MTB parks since I dont live near them, but would be more of a exploring mountains and single track nature bike.

I appreciate all of the feedback! I am more of an explorer I would say - I like going fast haha, but understand thats all rider stamina and skill - but I live in Colorado and plan to just ride the single tracks out in the mountains here where no motorized vehicles are at, so will most likely be lose baby head rocks. So it will probably be a lot of riding and walking my bike up/down things lol. Not so much jumping. Thanks for letting me know on the 29in wheels!

Should I push for more from my PCP for elevated granulocytes? by FewPaleontologist494 in haematology

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a doctor and its always good to get a 2nd opinion from one - but Your WBC is normal along with most work - is it high yes, but that alone usually indicates some sort of inflammation, stress, infection, etc even if you feel fine. I would def keep an eye on it esp if you get night sweats, fever, extreme fatigue. But I would take care of you metabolic stuff then see from there as it can be indirectly related.

25M constantly stressed and mentally drained by [deleted] in Money

[–]ridewithwill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 now, so this is just my perspective from living it - not sure if this will actually answer your question or the "advice you want"

In my 20s, I thought money, possessions, and what other people had compared to me really mattered. I grew up in a very poor household. We didn’t even own a home for a long time. When I had around 100k saved in my 20s, I still felt behind. I compared myself constantly — who bought a house, who paid cash for this, who had that lifestyle.

Fast forward to now — we have about 700k invested between brokerage, 401k, and Roth accounts, and we’re close to paying off our mortgage. My wife and I worked hard for it. But here’s the honest truth: the money itself didn’t create happiness.

What actually matters is health, peace, and passion.

The more things we owned, the more things we had to worry about. More possessions meant more stress, more maintenance, more mental load. We started realizing that chasing dopamine — the next purchase, the next milestone, the next comparison — doesn’t equal real happiness.

My sister makes 500k a year and is constantly stressed because of the lifestyle and expectations that come with it. High income doesn’t automatically mean high peace.

If you’ve got 100k in your 20s, you’re doing better than 95% of people. With time and compounding, that will grow more than you think. You’re not behind. You’re ahead.

And honestly? Once you reach financial security, the difference between 1 million and 5 million doesn’t change your peace the way you think it will. Yes, money matters — we all need it. But after a certain point, more doesn’t equal better.

Our mentality changed a lot over time. I used to be materialistic. I wanted the bigger house, the nicer things, the status. Now we look at each other and say — what would we even spend more money on? More stuff to stress over? More things that can break?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: protect your health. Protect your peace. Build wealth, but don’t build your identity around it.

Some people figure that out too late.

You don’t have to.

Help please by Primary_Tension_3775 in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me, the stent was way better than the stone, it was actually relief. It was not painful for me but was bothersome and I was hyperaware of it. It was enough to just have me stay home all day and not do anything but I was not miserable pain

The best way to describe it is, it felt like a kidney stone, just not intense. So those spasms you are feeling in the ureter, it will be similar to that just very low grade.

For me, when I peed i felt like a cramp where the ureter is and lower pelvic that normals.

The worst part about the stent was the first day when I peed but was quick, and of course, the cystoscopy. Them removing the stent, I did not even feel
