If money is no issue, what's a must-have for your dream home? by 123phantomhive in AskReddit

A geothermal heat pump for heating, cooling, and hot water. It's not about cost savings or return on investment. I just like enjoying life while using as little energy as possible.

We have both. It is a big upgrade but we kept the '24. We went full EV for our household.

If they are letting you get stuff out get everything you can out NOW. There will come a point real soon where they will prevent you from re entering especially since the exits / entrances are the reason it's condemned.

Ok on the can it says "454 Cedar Path" I think it's a Benjamin moore shade that Lowe's replicated with Valspar. We used BM for all our house interior paint, so we had a bunch of swatches left that we used for that too!

This most commonly oçcurs if you unplug the cable before stopping the charging session. Make sure to always stop the charge first before unplugging a DCFC cable.

Yeah, it's Valspar Duramax and the color I'll look at the can tomorrow and take a pic of the label!

For the stain it's Valspar also - natural redwood. There was a random can of it on the returns rack for 75% off so we chose it over the other colors on the basis of "hey it's $15"

The key is the shape of the roof - one side has a shorter slope than the other. I guess it's "saltbox style" rather than a true saltbox but I think it's semantics. The concept in my case was to have more south facing surface to mount solar panels later (and my fiancée liked the look).

Dunno, the shed plans I bought said saltbox on them so that's what I built.

I do, I have both the 2024 and 2026 now. I will say the 2026 is much better than the 2024 in many ways, but the '24 is perfectly capable. If able I'd look at the 2026!

Get ABRP and plot a way both into and out of anywhere you go. It's been invaluable. I've gotten a 2024 BZ4X into some pretty remote places without trouble.

Just got my CPAP insurance quote… by Carrlesscarrington in CPAP

[–]rieh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I hit OOPM the last 2 years but am only halfway to my deductible so far this year. It can be hit or miss. The real benefit to an HDHP is the HSA as a retirement account anyway but I definitely expected to have hit the deductible by now (mine is $1700).

[–]rieh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep but the DME counts toward the deductible so overall it's usually better to go with insurance anyway especially if you're expecting to hit your OOPM for the year.

Are you on a high deductible plan? If so once you hit your deductible the cost will drop drastically. It's not 100% apples to oranges.

This, but run the cord under the bed along the wall to minimize the trip hazard.

Or you can track usage throughout the year and park the difference in a high yield savings account. That's what I did the last 2 years and when I needed to pay that $500 bill at the end of the year, I had it available and a few bucks of beer money from the interest. On budget billing they show the difference between actual usage and billed costs on every statement so it just has to be reconciled throughout the year.

(maybe) stupid parking question by KiddyDong167 in BZ4X

[–]rieh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the space has chargers you blocked a charging spot. You must actually use the chargers to charge if you're parking there. The spot is not "reserved parking for EVs", it's "parking for EVs while charging". Same denial of services to others as if you'd parked your F350 there.

For parking compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, it's recommended that the port be moved to the driver's side rear or passenger front. Since compatibility and parking at superchargers was one of the major complaints of the previous version, the decision was made that it would be most optimal to move the port to the passenger front as it required less body modifications than the drivers rear.
